Why do people put such importance on what a celeb thinks?

not just in politics, but ANYTHING. Daily news points out these people can't even control their own lives, so why do some think anything they say is important?

Because our stupid culture idolizes those nitwits.  Some of them played a smart person in a movie so that gives them some sort of cred.  in the media. It is all just too stupid for words.

Well, duh, people like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan know EVERYTHING, right?  Shouldn't we just hang on their every word and never have an original thought of our own??!

Those people look up to celebs because they think they are automatic leaders.  The media molds a celeb and people will believe what the media dishes out.  Sad.
