Like famous people a little too much, I mean J.K Rowling, Oprah... etc. I mean, even top contributers. Why do people do this kind of hero raising status thing.... you know what I mean.

  1. maybe to live vicariously through them, and also so they can tear them down after building them up.  We build people up and when they can't perform to our incredibly high standards, we rip them apart!

  2. Everyone feels the need to"worship" someone, or to live  through a successful person, or to be a part of someone's success(even if they have nothing to do with it). It's human nature.

  3. I don't think it is so much as "worshiping" them but more of them idolizing them.  Like me, I want to be a photographer and I love Ansel Adams.  And alot of people admire Oprah for her ability to persuade others to do the right thing and have common sense and logic.

It's just a matter of admiration.  People who dream of being an actor/actress might like Johnny Depp or Julia Roberts 'a little too much'.  People who dream of being a Fashion Designer might like Roy Ramond 'a little too much'.

  4. yeah, I know what you mean...

they should give but keep it SECRET....

that is how we are supposed to give is secretly... anonymously...

but they always seem to want stuff named after them, stuff like that.

I don't know why... maybe just need to make themselves feel good??

I know the area I live in there is this family that contributes to a lot of stuff, and their name is everywhere....

BUT there have been times when they REFUSED to donate if their name wasn't put on it...

    how s****. is that????

When I donate it's in secret... I want it to be kept a secret....

it's not to get any sort of reward when I give, it's because i really want to give to help someone.

I don't want recognition for it....  I just want someone to benefit in their life.

  5. Because they made a lot of money and only with a lot of money can someone raise an army of robots and take over the world and that is everyones dream from my point of veiw

  6. Wow...now this is the best question I have seen asked on here.

People are brainwashed by the media from the time they are old enough to read. The media makes them feel like they are beneath those who have celebrity status.

Models are spray painted all over thier body reflecting not a blemish or flaw.

Stars are drapped in diamonds and tuxedos on the red carpet.

Most of society has insecurities brought about by situations while growing up...i.e., bullying, emotional abuse, physical abuse, etc.

These insecurities are compounded by the media into hero worship.

No one is better than you. NO ONE.

In every closet lives a skeleton. Surely, G.W. Bush and his daughters problems with drugs and alcohol, J.F. Kennedy and his cheating on Jackie O., Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton, and hundreds of other popular people are examples of how they are as weak and full of faults as the rest of us.

Everyone has worth and potential. It is how we percieve ourselves that will either guide us to happiness or destroy us from the inside out and fame is not a guarentee that you win.

So in answer to your question; it is a simple case of most people believing that they are not as good as anyone else.
