Why do people recognise influentual people when they are ded, why cant people get proper reconition when alive

Too true s****., I reckon if their were more people who cared about the living then they might actually get the help they need (like Elvis Presley), he was recognised, but hes more popular now hes gone and thats sad, if his so called friends had of stopped him with the pills and helped him with his weight, then maybe he'd still be alive for all to enjoy, we are truely strange creatures us humans thats for sure!

Where I'm from Ireland, a legendary and influential singer named Ronnie Drew has just been honoured by basically the entire music community (including U2 et al) he is extremely ill but people have decided that he should be honoured in his own lifetime - not by tributes later!

It's funny how people come out of the woodworks to say nice things when someone has passed..although certain influential people do get there butt kissed and ego boosted on a daily basis.

It might have something to do with the fact that you humans (obviously not you s****. as you're a dog) ... these humans have a tendency to not liking parting with finances.

Dead people don't require money so it's easier to give recognition to them as no money exchanging is involved.

Hindsight. Many geniuses are far advanced, too far advanced, for the time they live in. Either what they propose is considered taboo or heretical by the ruling party of their society or the rest of the society simply has not evolved enough to understand and embrace their ideas. As society evolves, grows older and hopefully wiser, we can look back and see what others saw. Think of da Vinci and his flying machine- his interests were too far wide-spread and not grouped into a neat school of thought, so it took centuries for what he did to make sense. Once we got there, though, we recognised his feats in that area.
