  1. Sometimes it may just be a habit or because they see other people do it. But usually is because the waitors or waitresses like to fill the cup up high and the straw may fall on the floor.

  2. So that if the waitress or waiter mixes your dink up with someone elses cup you aren't drinking out of a stranger's cup.  And if they bring you a new cup every time it's so that you have a sraw since they usually forget to give you 1 every time.

  3. I do it because I don't want the server to touch it, to push it back into the cup when it rises while the drink is being filled.

  4. So the drink doesn't get the straw wet where you would usally hold it and the straw doesn't cause the drink the spray out of the cup if the drink is accadentally poured on the straw

  5. If you are refilling from a pitcher....you remove the straw so it does not touch the edge of the pitcher and pass your germs along to the next refill. The edge of the pitcher should NEVER touch a glass or straw. If you are refilling at the soda machine, you should ALWAYS use a clean glass. If you use a dirty glass at the machine you risk contamination at the nozzles.

  6. idk i never did that

i didnt know people did do that

  7. to keep your germs away from the fountain. its like using a new plate when eating at a buffet......you dont want to use the buffet spoons after someone has rearranged their food in their used plate.
