Question:

Why do people say Canada "isn't a real country" ?

They have independence ! The Dominion of Canada was formed in the 19th Century (I think it was 1867) and I think it gained total independence in the 80's (I think 82) . Is it because they share the same queen as Britain ?

I haven't heard that before, anything you hear on TV can't be taken too seriously.  In America like here in Oklahoma my friends and I agree Canada would make a fine country to add to our fifty another five states, you in Canada are practically states now,  If Canadians were ever attacked  by Iran,  Korea, China, Russians, or any other evil empire.  I'm sure USA would come to your defense in a heartbeat.
