Why do people say Obama is not black?

Obama may be half white but he is still half black. This means he is both a white and black person. He also has a black father and therefore a black y chromosome(making him a black man). He also has recent admixture(his parents are two different races). That means he is not mixed(like a person who is mixed from history) but in fact has two sides of his ancestry that dominate. One side is black and the other is white. How is he not black?

He has the right to decide his race and he decided he was black..Plus is mother wasnt even completley "white" she was part native American too.

He is mixed. He was raised as a white boy. His father was an African.

I never say he is not black, I just think its dumb when people say "he is black" because to me he is bi-racial so he is both black and white, you can't take either out.

It usually comes out from the mouths of Eurocentric fascists. It's common for such a group to quickly point a finger at a successful black person's heritage and say that it was a white ancestor that got him there, but conversely with criminals and drug-dealers, they abstain for ever placing the name "part white". Almost like an exclusive club for the elite.

People seem to forget that it wasn't too long ago that mixed race people were still called black anyway. Black people flipped the coin into something to be proud about...seems like the game has changed yet again!

He is mixed. His mom is white and dad is black. Just because he has black in him, and isn't white skin doesn't mean he is black! He is definatly bi-racial. My mom is black and my dad is portugese, so I guess I am just all black?? Wtf?
