Why do people say jose reyes is overrated

He does get less credit than he deserves. I think he's an amazing shortstop. He is, nonetheless, young and immature. I think people dislike him for that, and therefore ignore his talent. He makes some stupid mistakes, but that shouldn't out weigh his talent. He just needs to play the game respectfully and grow up a little, get a little more exerience behind him. He's going to have an amazing career if he keeps this up.

They make him sound like he is on pace for the hall of fame. His numbers are good, but not even all-star worthy this year.

Now for over-rated  -  that is Beltran.

Becuase he does not sohow the effort he did as a rookie. They believe he could be doing better than what he is. Also he does not always think when he is on the basepaths.

to the one below me that said he's not an above average fielder..well...you're proving my point as a hater.

just because he makes errors doesn't make him not above average. he can field, and he can field well. he'll win gold gloves if he gets the errors under control. his range is great, his arm is great, and he has the ability to make the great play. he shows immaturity with errors. thats above average overall to me.
