How is he disrespectful toward he opponents? During the interview, he always congratulates his opponents and never gets cocky at all during the match. Despite his age, he never throws a temper tantrum like Novak. Also, his dad taught him to always be humble on the court and be respectful. His first pumping isn't rude either, he does it to pump himself up. Not show off. It's not like he comes up to you and shoves it near your face.

  1. rafa is always respectful of others, who said this??

  2. I'm not aware that anyone has said this.  Maybe, somebody just wants to start something.

  3. Rafa is a beast and hes nice. I think where you got your information is unreliable.

  4. well,i've never heard it but if any have its only because they're watching some other nadal.....a disillusioned,fantasy-version of him. it's moronic--because if it's one thing i do particularly admire about rafa is his grace and lack of pretense. he reminds me an awful lot like the great steffi graf in his demeanor.

if they're just going by his serving antics/rituals then they aren't going by much.

  5. Rafa frowns when he concentrates. He also seems rather shy, and doesn't have very good English.

It seems to me his manners are impeccable.

    He's not arrogant.

He gives praise, and I've never heard him dis- another player.

In fact he shows great respect for his opponents ability.

There none so q***r as folk.

You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.

I hope Nadal is around for a long time, he is a very worthy champion.

  6. It's usually the fans (of other tennis players) who find Nadal disrespectful.  Most of the commentators and writers say that he is humble.

If someone says that Nadal is disrespectful, ask him if has watched the recent RG finals.  If he has and still says that Nadal is disrespectful, don't argue with him anymore, he probably doesn't know the meaning of the word humility.

Look for Nadal's post-match interview  RG finals 2008.  The press asked him if he feels that he's #1 after beating Federer the way he did.  He answered in a matter-of-fact way that he feels that he's #2, closer to #3 than #1.  This just shows how down-to-earth Nadal is.

  7. i agree i don't think that Rafa is disrespectful at all

  8. I've never herd people say that he is disrespectful. Whenvever he plays the announcers always say that he is very humble and very much liked by other players in the locker room. The fist pumping and all that is part of being an athlete, all of them do it even Federer. Unlike Djokovic who literally motions with his hands for the crowd to cheer for him when he wins a point and takes his shirt off (its s**y on a soccer/football field,IMO disrespectful on tennis court)

  9. Rafa is nice
