Why do people say not having a shirt on is inappropriate?

they all drive cars have air conditioning and other nice thigns that limit how they could sweat. on the other hand, here i am walkin eveyrwhere since i can get get my license reinstated and i take my shirt off to get sun and not sweat as much.if everybody had to walk i bet more shirts would come off. any opinions?

It reminds some of cavemen, savagery attire.  Like in your partial birthsuit.  It may portray "no class" to some.

Depends where you are shirtless. At the beach, not inappropriate. In a store, inappropriate.
