Why do people say "I know god exist"?

They say " I dont need proof, I KNOW God exists." Then back then when your parents said Santa Clause(or any other mythical character like the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy,ect) exists with no proof, what if you said " I KNOW Santa Clause exists." it just irritates me. How people can be gullible. I mean there could be a God but theres no proof there is and not ENOUGH proof there isn't.

I can look at the face of my beautiful little boy and I know that there is something more out there, bigger than you and me, I think too many people confuse God & religion. Religion was created by man and has been misinterpreted many times.

"It just irritates me" how people can be so lacking in intelligence and at the same time, complain about other people's beliefs and values. For a start, punctuation is important. i am a christian and if god doesn't exists then, at the end of my life what have i got to lose i have lived by the bible which tells me to love my neighbors as myself meaning that i have tried to be nice to everyone.

but if at the end of your life you haven't accepted christ then what have you lost, EVERYTHING and ETERNITY in h**l

I know God exhists because I have faith.  I read my Bible, I look at things in Nature, even my very own body, and I am in awe at how wonderfully I am put together!  No "big bang" or "evolution" could have made me or Nature this way!

Comparing Santa Claus to God is pretty shallow.  I'm trusting in God that there is going to be somewhere where I go when I die to live forever in happiness, peace and tranquility for ever and ever.  I belive in Santa so that I can get what I want every year at Christmas....  Just not a comparison.

I myself don't know whether God really exists or not. But let me tell u an incident the day before my grandma (my dad's ma) died in an accident my father was feeling uneasy and as if something bad was going to happen . Perhaps in this way some people can say that God exists but if God exists then why has he made his existence so mysterious ??? only he knows that!!!
