Why do people say "Ouch" when they get hurt?

I actually say "Ouchers" but why do most people say "Ow" or "Ouch"?

My mom and grandma say 'agigabio' it means the same thing except in Japanese. I just scream AHHH!!!

We were taught as children to say specific words for pain - like "Ouch" - rather than scream and yell loudly. It's part of the civilization process.

Usually people scream with "o" sound or an "ah" sound.

i think its just a reaction. i say ouch when i think somethings gonna hurt and it doesnt lol
