Why do people say that Obama is black?

Well, Obama considers himself black.  If he says he's black, then that's what I'm going to say about him.  I don't have the patience to get mixed up in that nonsense of "what color is he?".

Because when your biracial, with a white parent and a black parent society usually sees you as black. I have mixed family members and friends and they are always seen and identified as black even though they are mixed. It's just how things are, personally I don't think it really matters actually. Plus most African Americans are not 100% African American anyways, most have diverse backgrounds.
