  1. Yeah its a very good idea to go on these hospital tours. I did it when i was pregnant with my first child and it was a huge huge help and it actuallly made me comfortable to know where i will be in the hospital room and meet the nurses and people whom are there to care for u when u go into labor.. I even took classes there. So yes it helps alot of mothers to be comfortable and not be scared.. I know at first u are kinda nervious seeing all the machines and baby bed they have in the room.. But actually it isnt like that its like picturing u are in a hotel room. Thats how i saw it.. Its funny but am being honest with ya... I got to meet the nurses there and the other staff that worked there at nite time..  But i would suggest yes its a good idea to take the tour and see for urself.. U will love the baby nursery,, aw its sooo cute... U will love it....Good luck.. I hope it helps..

  2. It helps you to be calmer, when you get there, if you've seen it all before & know what to expect in their birthing rooms & maternity ward.

  3. You schedule a tour so you can see if you will be comfortable with the hospital you chose. You will understand more how their system works.

Where I will deliver, the babies room in with the parents, they don't get whisked off to the nursury (or as they call it-- the baby lounge) unless the mom is tired and asks that the baby is taken care of there.

Also, you get to meet nurses and see if you like the atmosphere.

It's definitely a good idea to do it.
