  1. I for one, do not like bridges one little bit

  2. I like high bridges and cable cars and high crossings in general, especially over water, because it frightens me a little bit in that controlled sort of "safe fear" way.

I'm not really afraid of heights or falling, but I do have a horrible fascination with very, very deep quarries, cliffs, bridges, and canyons. Once I start looking at pictures I can't stop, and when my fiance and I drive past quarries in the area (there are quite a few) I press my face against the glass and stare at it until I'm sure that it's not going to reappear in front of the car. Luckily for me the only high bridge in the area is the Zilwaukee bridge, and it's about two hours north.

I've bungee-jumped a few times, and there's a quote that goes something like, "People who are afraid of heights aren't afraid of falling, they're afraid they'll jump." that I think is pretty accurate.

Anyway, because water is beautiful and controlled danger is a rush. :)

  3. Most people find water a calming thing, i guess it goes back to when we were in the womb. Water nearly always sounds relaxing too.

  4. you get to see the water from above instead of lean over the side and squinting at the pasture. i don't like bridges because I'm horrified of some types of water.
