Why do people seem to want somthing bad to happen on december 21, 2012?

i for one know for a fact that its a bunch of bullshit

but i don't know why i see so many people that seem to want something bad to happen

Actually I believe something great will happen.  I think a large enlightening of some kind, possibly the end of militant war between countries.

You can't know for sure that 'something bad' won't happen on December 21st, 2012. Why? Because you can't know the future.

That said, it has something to do with the Mayan calendar ending in 2012 (perhaps on that date, I don't know). I don't believe it to be true, but that doesn't mean I can't guarantee the world will be here that day. Or, for that matter, next week.

Hah, yeah, I believe that it's kinda bulls-.

I remembered when yr 2000 is approaching, they all said it's gonna be the end of the world... But still, we are all doing fine! It's 2008 now. Hmmm, as for dec21, 2021, I don't think anything bad is going to happen on that very day.

Say if something bad is going to happen, and so, we can't help or amend it, can we? :)

They saying that its the end of the Mayan calendar so its the end of the world....SO WHAT? I mean people said that the end of the world was 2000....and its not. We don't know when the end of the world is....the only person that does is God.

They are going by predictions of the Mayan calendar which ends at that date.  It's the classic  The End Is Near!  mentality that people have.  Thing is they don't realize that they are right in a way.  People do die, doesn't mean though that the world will end when they die.  But the end is then, for them, when they die.

Look at the world around us. Social, moral and economic decline, war, hate, self gratification. The world needs to be cleaned up, and the coming age of Aquarius is going to do it.

Because people are really, really stupid and will believe anything.  It's a great opportunity for the kooks to stockpile stuff.  These nuts need something to look forward to.  Being wrong won't deter them either.

i dont really know but i kinda want something bad to happen but at the same time i dont so im not really sure about it.some people are just wierd and want the world to end or something like that.ive been watching national geographic channel it shows things like this.

It's not that they want something bad to happen, they just want anything to happen. Depression rates are high, the world is in trouble, and people are getting to a point where there is nothing left. People want a change, but they have no idea how or why. They want the world to change, but they don't want to make any effort to change it, so they hope God will. (when a hurricane happens it has been noted that people go through a euphoric feeling before or shortly after. This is due to a release of endorphines by the body so that people will not go crazy during crisis. This may be the same thing that people go through when they anticipate a major disaster. Much like the rush of buying a lottery ticket.
