Besides it being in an accident or them being rich enough to of got bored with the vehicle.

Or the cliche "moving overseas" "baby on the way" "buying house/unit"

I am looking for a car and I am seeing lots of them that are less than 2 years old and have less than 20k kms which I find odd and not all of them could of been in accidents.

  1. I think you've said it right there. Some people like upgrading constantly to newer model cars so they sell their current to help pay for the new.

Sometimes, the odometer reading is manually 'adjusted' to serve different purposes...

  2. Some ppl lease cars and if they don't drive a lot every three yrs another lease starts, can purchase ir or lease again, also some foreign countries only allow newish cars on the road, about emissions, like Germany and China I believe, not sure on that though

  3. You will find that many of these are ex lease vehicles, and if you check you will likely find that they are ex government ones.

Government has a policy that all vehicles are changed at 40,000km or 2 years whichever comes first

  4. It is possible that they could be frauds. But mainly, why people do what they do is their business. I'm not looking the horse in the mouth if I find a well kept car with low milege being sold used, as long as a carfax report comes up clean, shut up and enjoy the benefits of other people's misfortune.

But personally I would NOT buy a car that's been in an acccident.
