Why do people sometimes throw salt at their back or something??

is it a sign? what does it mean...i just saw it in a movie...

why do they do that...they put salt on their palms then throw it at their back..??

Yeah its supposed to stop bad luck, if you spill salt you throw it behind you to stop the bad luck.

But suppose if you aren't superstitious its kinda stupid

It's an old superstition.  As I understand it it's supposed to be if you spill salt, you throw it over your...left shoulder I think, to dispel bad luck.

it some super stition thing. i think its sapposed to get rid of bad luck.
