  1. They're just morons, plain and simple.

  2. They are attempting to get in front of, what they perceive to be, another drunk driver and get to their bar before happy hour is over.

  3. That sure is an annoying habit they have, isn't it?!  At our house we have a few theories on this topic:

    1)  They think they're in a race (MarioKart!) and don't want you to "win."  They'll do ANYTHING to not let you go ahead of them.

    2)  They are SO into themselves and their own needs that they do not care who else is on the road.  (our favorite saying for this type of driver is:  "I'm not much, but I'm all I can think about!")

    3)  They don't even realize they're doing it -- it's like a subconscious need to be first in everything they do.

    I hope that helps!

  4. Because they're selfish and don't want to share the road with anyone else.
