could be described as child neglectors.

Leaving 3 small children in an unlocked apartment in a foreign country is hardly responsible parenting.

Arent there other people in the world who are more deserving of your sympathy, than 2 rich doctors who should have known better, and then when it did go horribly wrong, decided to take advantage of the situation by paying off their mortgage with money raised by pensioners and childrens pocket money?

Two people with lower morals, you are unlikely to meet.

  1. i think they will sue themselves for negilgence

    wouldnt surprise me

    nothing does now

  2. How can you spend so much of your time persecuting a family you don't even know?

If they were going to be charged with neglect it would haven happened by now

Clearly the police don't think it's necessary

They made a huge mistake and are paying dearly for it

As for paying the mortgage with the fund, at least they were open and honest about what some of the money would be used for

    Remember this part?

1.1.3    To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family

If people didn't realise that then that's their problem

The have 2 other children remember?

Would you have preferred they were out on the streets searching for Madeleine dragging the twins along with them?

  3. Give it a rest eh - go back to your toilet humour.

  4. someone has to stand up for them

  5. Dave, grow up love.

Whilst the Maddie case is terrible and we all have our own opinions on the McCanns, there are far worse things happening in the world on a daily basis.

  6. When I gave money to help find Maddie, thats what I gave it for. Not to pay that pairs mortgage.

I read all the other answers before I wrote this and its still a touchy subject.

Still, facts are facts. They left those kids to go out drinking and one was "kidnapped" As a father of three, I find that behaviour appauling.

What I think is worse is the money I donated to "the fund" has now been used to pay these feckin leeches mortgage.

  7. ok they neglected their children, but where is this wee child now?

  8. Time to move on Dave or your boss will be sacking you for spending work time on all his computers. Just trying to remember is it a computer programmer or maybe consultant engineer.

  9. If she really was snatched to order, they would have taken her at any point during that holiday.  If it is true, they would have taken her when she was alone for a minute or two - which always happens no matter what you say, especially on holiday when you think you are in a safe environment, for example you let your child play with another little one whilst you read and intermittently  'keep an eye on them'.  I hope they find Maddie, or find out what happened to her.  Their pain is evident in their eyes.

  10. For the very same reason people spend so much time persecuting grieving parents who are bearing the brunt of a terrible decision they took with their well beloved child.

  11. Can I pity you instead?

  12. I agree entirely, if they hadn't left their three young babies alone each night then none of this would have happened (the alleged abduction).  They should be definitely charged with abandonment if nothing else, I don't care who they are, what they work at, etc, they should be charged full stop.

  13. Oh I don't know ... how about self righteous people who spend hours dragging innocent people through the mud.  The money that was raised was to help the mcCanns in their search for their daughter - I don't object to it, if it means that it paid their mortgage for a couple of months.  And any right minded person could accept that they were in a bad situation.

As for people with lower morals - how about those who kick grieving parents when they're down?

  14. Dave You seem to base your answer on the McCanns being rich. . May I remind you they both came from the slums of Glasgow, both worked hard to become successfull doctors. They certainly did not get there sitting on a PC all day trying to think of nasty things to say about rich people. Perhaps I am referring to someone with even lower morals. As for the mortgage payments , both were in Portugal for 5 or 6 months looking for Maddie and not earning. It was the directors of the fund who decided, rightly , to pay just 2 months of their mortgage to help them in their hour of need.

  15. just because camp mccann say they have high-profile backers, sympathy from parents world-wide & understanding for their predicament.........

    DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!

  16. Conversely, aren't there other people in the world who are more deserving of your opprobrium?!?

  17. I agree with hide and seek - right on the nail!

  18. Maddies mummy and daddy left her to fend for herself while they went out on the booze with pals for the night.  When they came home, their little girl was gone.

Face facts - these parents, by their ignorance and neglect, had their daughter stolen from them.

    I cannot imagine anything worse.

Someone said that Maddies parents had no way to judge the area where they were staying.  What!  Anywhere is a potential dangerous place in my book.

  19. Mr Perfect, is there any human being that lives up to your ideals really. Someone has a dvd about a lion and you slam it. someone has a crash and they are bad parents, someone on holiday loses a child in a swimming pool bad parent. Were does of us old enough to remember driving with no seatbelts bad parents, those  that left their doors open bad parents. Lots of people in the world today leave their doors open you know, are they all bad parents.

  20. When you were growing up, did your parents know where you were every second of the day?

And if something had happened to you, would they have 'deserved it'?

And for any one iwho is successful in their chosen career, are they less deserving of sympathy, help or attention?

And lastly, are you sure about them paying off their mortgage from the Maddy Fund, or are you just believing the nasty lit bits of this story to suit your own picture of these people?

  21. There are many parents right now on a beach somewhere and have no idea where their kids are. It's not neglect, but it is something they shouldn't be doing.

  22. theres a time-waster within all of us

  23. I wholeheartedly agree Dave, but I've just read the article on they thought Maddie was 'snatched to order' and for a career women like me whose husband and I never wanted children, I still found it very upsetting.

However at the end of the day, the fact (and it is FACT) she would not have got snatched if they had not left her alone.

Them being rich, poor, white or black does not come in to it, they were bad parent’s end of story. We never had children because we could not fit a child into our lifestyle the McCann’s should have done the same and stayed childfree.

These flippant remarks need to stop though, this story is very sad and does not deserve them.

  24. Absolutely right Dave

We all know very well, had Kate and Gerry been Mr and Mrs "Average"  they would have been charged with negelct at the very least

And to the people who say don't you think they have suffered enough

What about a mother who in a fit of rage whilst suffering from Post Natal Depression kills her baby, and then, when she comes to, suffers guilt for the rest of her life

Are you saying she should not be charged either???

    *edit*

Strange isn't it, I have just read that the "story" on today's front page of the Sun, about Maddy being snatched by a Belgium paedophile ring is flawed.

Why are the British press so keen to jump on any story that clears the Mc's??
