Why do people stick their gum under restaurant tables?

i just absoulutly HATE when people just throw their gum under the table and I dont know why and i just want to know why the can put it in a napkin or somehting!

they are nasty and don't want to take their own rubbish with them. so they get rid of it when they are about to eat

The rare time that I chew gum, and then go to a restaurant: I swallow the gum.

I'm not 100 percent sure why, but I believe  it is a disgusting bad habit. It could be that they are too lazy to do anything else with it so they just stick it under the table.

I have seen people do things in restaurants that they would never do or allow in their homes. We used to dine out with our neighbours from time to time. The wife has OCD and cleans house 24/7. Their house smelled so strongly of cleaners and solvents that we couldn't enter it.

When we went to eat out she was an absolute PIG. She would spill food and drink and never attempt to clean it up or ask the wait staff to help her. The area around her seating area looked like a war zone. And, yes, her bubble gum went under the table.

I do it, and i hate it when people do it too. Hipocrit. It's an ugly piece of c**p to look at when you're eating, and it's tempting to eat it again when you're finished with your meal if you see it there on your plate. I think that's why we do it.

The answer to that is:   their mother didn't teach them better manners when they were being raised.   Gum under a table is extremely dirty and disrespectful.   Would they want someone sticking gum under the table in THEIR house?

They don't want to leave it sitting in a napkin, so they just stick it under the table. It's quick and easy.
