Why do people still think that globle warming is a lie?

we have all the facts its really not up for debate i mean globle warming is when the earth gets hotter and yes it has gotten hotter so y r people still in not aggreing that its real

First, the only place you find skeptics is on YA.  Everyone here is anonymous and you don't know which are paid hacks of the oil companies.  Always look for the science -- which is readily available for those who search.

Also, many people hate to face a change.  They think that in the 10 or 30 years they have learned all there is to know and refuse to be open to new learning -- they are our modern day flat-earthers.

A third factor is a complete lack of understanding of the scientific process.  They want to grab one piece of evidence that global warming is cased by something else and use it as proof.  The scientific process includes looking at and considering all evidence.

It is important to note - in fairness - that we are not entirely sure that most of the warming is caused by mankind -- we are only 90%+ sure.  That's up from 5 years ago as more evidence becomes available and is likely enough for people to have to react to.

Those who are educated in the scientific evidence believe it is highly likely that mankind is causing the warming.  Most of the YA sceptics are entirely uneducated on the subject.

Actually the earths temperature has dropped this year due to lack of sunspots. And the facts actually show no conclusive evidence that humans have any effect on the climate at all. But go ahead and believe the hype machine without looking at the facts.

I understanding that global warming is severely impacting our earth in a variety of ways.  I understand this because I read scientific journals and believe the information shared by "those in the know".  Many people need to physically experience something to believe in its existence and its effects.  Many people don't feel or see a difference therefore they think it's not real.  People don't live long enough to gain insight as to how something like a planet changes and evolves and what our impact is long term.

the ice age was a series of cold spells interspresed with warm inter-glacial periods, it wasn't just one long cold snap.  These cold spells lasted thousands of years, as did the warm inter-glacials.  We are now essentially in a warm interglacial period, the global temperature will either get warmer, to a peak, then start to cool down, or if we have gone over the peak will start to cool towards the next glacial period.  it looks like we are still warming up.  This may or may not be enhanced by the burning of fossil fuels, although it is only the fossil fuel peddlars who say it isn't...  Good enough reason to suggest it may have something to do with it, like cigarrettes don't cause cancer...

Other planets are warming at the same rate as we are. People who claim global warming also are wanting to impose a carbon tax on us suggesting alterior motives. More experts than not claim this is all a lie. We don't have FACTS we have THEORIES. Periodic climate warming and cooling have been going on since time. Look , the jury is still out on this one.  I for one would love to see us move away from petrolium for more reasons than one.  But STOP believing everything you hear.

No Sammy, all facts have not been addressed, there is no clear reason why the little ice occurred, it could easily come again. So CO2 will not make enough of a difference to stop it, and it is coming.

Sammy - you ask a very good question.  

You don't have to be Scientist to realise that pushing pollutants  into the atmosphere in the volumes we do is not a good thing.

You don't need to be an economist to know that oil is a finite resource.

And you don't need to be a statistician to see the vast majority of the scientific bodies and institutions attributing global warming to man's activity - and a handful of individual scientists on the other side casting doubt.

The thing is for Mr AverageGuy  -  if we go with the Global Warming theory we've nothing to lose if it's wrong because we have still conserved resources and cleaned up the atmosphere. Whereas if we plod on and ignore it  -  and we're wrong  -  it's goodbye mankind !.

Its because they are blind. they are keeping there eyes close to reality. They dint want to respond yet. not yet till they dint see reality on whats the effect into human lives, for as long us there are still lots of resources to get they will not response to it. That is not right to people. they only realize when all gone and distructive and can put harm to people.

Where's the earth hotter due to global warming?  I wish someone would answer this question because I've been asking for a long time.  Just don't say the polar regions because the changes there are cyclical and natural and have always happened, and always will.  Polar bears are healthy and flourishing in almost record numbers, so no problem there.

So that's why people disagree with the idea of global warming.  It's costly, controlling, and unproven.  If it did ever happen to start I'd change my mind, but not til then.  Some people just aren't born to blindly accept anything they're told.

First of all, it's spelled "global".  Second, it is a lie.  Studys have shown warming and cooling trends through out history.  Take or example the "ice age".  That was a cooling trend and the saga we are in now is a warming trend.  I believe that earth's climate and weather is just like our economy it has it's ups and downs.
