  1. I take a pen and paper to write down campsites that I might want to stay in the next time I go

  2. To write stuff down. make lists, diary, story. or they can draw. There is many ways and things you do with a pen and paper when you go camping. Hope I Helped!!!

  3. In case another tent crashes into yours, so you can write down their insurance details.

  4. to play noughts and crosses when your stuck in the tent in the rain soaked british summer we are having

  5. to make a list of things you might need next time, to leave a note under your car's wiper stating which way you hiked, and at what time, and what time you expect to be back (to help searchers in case you don't return), as an extra fire starter, to write down important info, to write a letter, to draw a map to the secret treasure you are burying ;0) and many other uses.

  6. So you can make out your last will & testament when you get lost. When they find your body by following the vultures, the will makes it much easier to determine who gets your stuff.

  7. They may want to write, draw, play games, keep scores, leave notes, write letters ,, just any use for a pen & paper.

  8. 1. to draw interesting things they see

    2. to note down observations, esp. if some kind of birdwatcher etc.

    3. for playing games-hangman,squares etc.

    4. to write a diary/journal of the trip

    5. activities like scavenger/treasure hunts.

  9. It was probably a reference to a common recommendation for inclusion in a first aid kit. Pen and paper allow someone treating an injured person to write down dates, times, names, injuries, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature and other information to give to paramedics or emergency room staff. I'm sure that's the reason it was on your list.

I, myself, carry pen and paper backpacking in order to keep a little travel journal in my spare time in which I can journal my thoughts, make notes of my daily activities and events, and sometimes sketch or doodle.

  10. In case you run out of toilet paper.

  11. I enjoy BIO inventory cave trips. This is usually what i am doing when I go camping. It is also a good idea to leave a note on your car if say you are going caving for 8 hours and don't return the note will let people know where to start looking for you. and emergency contact numbers. If you have kids sit them down and have them write  someone a letter (Grandma). I also write trip reports so taking notes along the way helps on this. Pin and paper are not heavy and can come in handy.

  12. so when you get back you can tell your neighbours everything that happened and not just leave things out because you have to use the famous excuse. "i forgot what we did on such and such a day."
