Why do people take off flip flops when on a boat?

people take their shoes off on my boat cause i make them. I dont want sand and dirt and dog S**t on my boat messing up the upholstery!

So if your feet get wet you don't slip around, and maybe you feel comfortable with bare feet.

It makes my footing more secure if I can feel the boat moving under my feet.

in our boat, its like law if u get dirt in it, u clean the whole boat.. lol... and usually 9/10 we go tubing when in the boat, so when on the single tube its easier to be able to just jump on it w.o be like oh d**n someone catch my shoes.. lol... our boats to fast to leave yer shoes in it tho cuz if yer doing 60 miles and then pull off the most sharp turn the boat will make yer shoes go flying...... did i mention i love the boat.. it is impossible to roll
