I have seen this one too many times. I understand if someone is calling you while driving, and even then you should tell that person to call back when its easier to concentrate. Do you think its a trend? Is it about being trendy? Don't people know the hazards of talking on the cellphone while driving?

  1. It's just a short call and it will never happene to them, OK.

    Arrogance is key here

  2. I see that all the time, these people are dangerous on the road. I believe the law should apply nationwide prohibiting phone calls while driving and the fine should be endangerment and reckless driving.

  3. I only talk with an ear piece.  I can't drive and hold a phone to my ear.  I wish they would pass a law in every state that you can only talk if using a hands free device.  It is very dangerous especially for young inexperienced drivers.

  4. because they can

  5. cuz they are stupid

  7. Great question!

On occasion, I'll be driving and one of my children will call. Since they are teenagers and drive, I wouldn't dream of not taking the call. However, I always put it on speakerphone and sit it in the console or on my lap to talk to them. If it's a friend or someone other than my immediate family, I don't answer and just call them back when I get to my destination. I drive everywhere with my 5 year old in my car. I do not want to put him at risk because mommy was focused on something other than the road.

I don't know if it's a trend or not, but I think it has something to do with not wanting to be out of touch for a second. Think back 20 years ago. If you weren't home, you didn't get the call. It didn't ruin your life.

I get behind people talking on cells all the time. Not only does it drive me nuts, but it scares me, too. I've seen people chatting away and the longer they chat, the less they press on the accelerator or the more they weave. These are the same people who claim they are careful when they talk. They don't even realize they are doing it.

I also forbid my boys to answer when driving. If I call, they don't answer. They pull over or wait till they get to their  destination. Now, I don't know if they do that with their friends. I'm not in the vehicle with them, and I'm not naive enough to know my kids don't do anything they aren't supposed to when I'm not around. However, we've talked about the dangers and they have a friend who was in a bad accident who was on his cell when it happened. You just have to hope and pray you got through to them.

  8. The same question goes for, why do men shave while driving, when do women put on make-up, why do people get dressed or eat while driving? The answer they will give you is that they do not have enough time at home but that answer is incorrect. The real fact is they need to get out of bed earlier and to do this they should go to bed earlier as well. People don't understand that when they do these things they are not only putting themselves in danger but, everyone else around them and that is something no one has the right to do.

  9. Maybe because I'm meeting someone somewhere and I'm lost and can't find the location!!
