Why do people talk to me in a child-like tone?

I'm a senior, I'm 18 and I've noticed that some kid will who is also a fellow senior, will use a childish tone of voice when asking me a question that involves me. For example, my textbook was open and he came up next to me pointed to a photo and said, "Nathalie? Is that you? Is that you Nathalie?" and when the yearbook came out last week, I was in the art section and the kid said again,"hey Nathalie look thats you!"

What exactly is this?

  1. Do you have any noticeable disabilities? They may be trying to lend a helping hand.

  2. jealousy, you're too intelligent for them so they use sarcastic tones to try to down you. OR if you keep not understanding something and asking over and over they may just be fed up, yet its still inapopriate. If its not that, its jealousy

  3. There may be some sort of strange joke going on about you; I just wouldn't pay attention to it at all. But, if it's really bothering you, try to get you friends to figure it out. It sounds like some sort of inside joke.

  4. he thinks hes cool that he can talk to you like a child. it gives him power and hes trying to get your attention. dont worry about it too much

  5. Well, maybe he likes you?

    Idk for sure but maybe.

But other than that just ignore him.

    School's over or almost.

So enjoy the rest of the time you have there.
