Why do people tend to overrate people or things?

why do people tend to give people (ex: famous, popular people) or things (new technology, new fads, new tv shows) more credit than than necessary....in otherwords why are certain people/things just flat out overrated these days???

  1. This question is TOTALLU AWESOME!!  and I think the very, no scratch that, the most super-duper absolute answer is...GREED!!

    The power of the all american dollar...this is why they advertise SUV's and any bad-*** American Truck... 8 cylinders of gas eating... money-draining mileage...

    or better yet...jenny craig diet food...overpriced, half the portions, and no taste... of course you lose weight...all that money being stolen from my pockets... thats a lot of extra change...

  4. You are saying that  some people  must  bring  others  down  to  their level because they aren't  good  enough to be good at it them selves? I agree with the  first  answer but  I would  cal i   "Pride" not "Greed" But his mid is working We probably conflict on  other things but  i like what he  said but  this is  small difference of opinion.

    it happens in the  arts  and on the playing field  and on the  sidelines as well
