Im a Christian and I think its wrong for people to automatically assume certain things about us. Like look at this question for instance and read the second answer.

Idk if the person that made the question might be a troll or whatever but I am in no way like that! You cant judge people by appearances or by religion. Someone may look nice but be a total jerk! vice versa. Also, why cant we state our opinions like everyone else without getting so many thumbs down for it? I do not believe in abortion. Honestly, its murder! I think its better to wait for marriage before having s*x. I know alot of ppl have premarital s*x but I dont look down on them. I do not believe in g*y rights but it doesnt mean I hate people who are g*y. I just disagree with their lifestyle choice. For instance, people smoke. You may not like that their smoking but it doesnt mean you dont like the person. See what I mean? Now dont get me wrong there are a lot of Christian hypocrites but not all are. I think people should just give everyone a chance and not be so quick to judge. So my question is why do people judge Christians and anyone at that matter, by their religion?

  1. In my experiences, I find religious people are the most judgemental of others... not just Christians (although they are the most harsh).

  2. they judge other religions

because they think that they are better

they think that their religion is like

    alot better

im a christian and im not like that either..

that girl is just an idiot

but theres alot of people who judge on this

and that and this and that

    its just their opinions

that jessicax.. girl or w.e her name is

    she judges too much

just cuz thats how the people youve met acted

doesnt mean thats how all christians are

    im nothing near that

so dont say every christian or catholic is like that

because not all christians are like that..

ok well thats THEM not everybody else..

jeezus dont you have like your period or something

    to take care of..

omg your 14 im so scared!!

    sorry babe but im 15

    :/

and for a 14 year old your not very bright

saying that ever christian and catholic is like that

jessica your pretty immature for a 14 year old..

listen to kelsie and grow up and stop cursing

    wow..im so offended..

how about you go smoke your weed or go get drunk

i mean that IS what you do right?

i mean it says so on your profile

i bet you think your cool

    oh

and why do you say "yeaaa boyyy" when you say your going to be a freshman..

    freshman suck..

    they are all like you..

    immature, annoying and retarded..

  3. Plainly said, every religion has it's hypocrites

  4. People are diverse, and the religious denomination they belong to only makes up a portion of who they are. There are religious people who are hypocrites (but then again, who doesn't have their hypocritical moments?). But in the end, it's the person as a whole that counts.

As for that girl who posted that idiotic title for her question, you can tell she's an immature spoiled brat. Pay no attention to her.

  5. As a christian, I can find many reasons why people think that. here's my opinion. Someone can follow and believe EVERY part of the gospel and still be the rudest person I've ever met. I know someone like this. She goes to church functions and teaches sunday school. However, she judges other religions and is just an over all rude person who is very close-minded. Then there are the "God Hate f**s" people, who I personally can't stand. How can they call themselves christian and then hate an entire group of people that are also God's creations? Some Christians ARE soon to judge, however I believe that God is the only one who should judge. I guess you can say I'm a "red letter" christian. But I can completely understand people who say christians are hypocrites. And, I'm sorry honey, but I COMPLETELY disagree with many of your view points, and maybe it's time to do some self reflection and see that you are quick to judge as well. Remember that that is only for God to do.

  6. you judge people that aren't in your religion by saying they're going to h**l..

so don't get mad at people for judging you.

**and just to let you know**, you're backing up a freaking troll. that girl is FAKE and so is her question.

but h**l since you're going off on your beliefs i'll go off on mine. i'm non-denominational and don't believe in worshiping to the lord. i'm pro-choice, simply because it's not up to you or anyone else to decide what a woman does with her body, i believe in g*y rights and believe that you cannot stop love no matter the gender, i believe that waiting til marriage is good for s*x, but if you're in a committed relationship and have been dating for quite some time i say go for it, i don't care.

and you know what? i don't think any one cares what i believe in and i don't care. once you get to the point in life where you realize that others people's opinions don't matter, you'll be considered mature.

now please stop ranting because this is not what Y!A is for.

EDIT::: and jessica is the perfect example as to why i'm non-denominational. why the h**l do we have to have religions to separate us from everyone? jessia seems to think she's better than others simply because her religion says that she's not going to h**l. what a sad thing for a 14 year old girl to think.

oh good lord jessica GROW UP and stop cussing

    you're not cool.

edit:: haha wow. whatever jessica. i'm not going to argue with someone who can't comprehend the simple things that i'm saying.

i reported your answer because cussing and harassment is against the rules here.

i'm not breaking any simply because i'm just giving you advice i.e. telling you to grow up.

  7. Because I used to go to a catholic school, and was catholic,

then I moved and went to a public school, learned other religions and decided to be an athiest. When I visited some old friends the were all "OOOOH. Not being catholic is a sinnnnn. You'll burn in h**l!"

  8. Some Christians can be really judgmental.

    If you're g*y, you're looked down upon.

If you get an abortion, you're looked down upon.

Not to mention all those stupid priests that preach and then molest young children.

Oh! and those girls becoming christians & getting purity rings because of the jonas brothers.

    I'm not saying all.

But some, SOME, christians are hypocrites.

  9. Because it is human nature to stereotype. Sounds too simple, but it's true. People find it easier to see one aspect of a person and caterogorize them. It's thier laziness, because they don't want to get to know a person, they want to take the easy route and assume what they're like...

I agree with you some Christians are hypocrites, but then theres also a lot who aren't. Other people are also hypocrites. Everyone is different...

Edit: I'm surprised at how rude some of these answers are...

  10. OMG...people these are not message boards! they are advice boards! stop violating the rules!

    EVERY single person is DIFFERENT.

Some Christians are hypocrites some are not! just like some atheists are evil some are not.

    GET OVER IT.

  11. Because there are Christians that are hypocrites. That's the case with anyone being stereotyped for any reason- not just over religion. Stereotypes exist over religion, what kind of clothes you wear, what race you are, what type of music you listen to, what kind of car you drive, what pets you have, what career path you choose, etc. It's not right, but yes, it happens.

  12. You are not a 12 year old girl.  I don't know what you're trying to accomplish, but it's quite useless.

  13. I don't know, but someone on here that I converse with could have a bit to say about this I'm sure. Her MIL made her son (this woman's hubby) choose between the wife and children or his mom because the wife wasn't Christian. The wife is catholic. He obviously chose his wife and kids.

I just feel that it's totally hypocritical to call yourself Christian but then make your son choose between you and his wife and kids. She wanted her son to "start" over with a good Christian woman.

  14. Because of the people who say they are Christians but don't act it. Like that girl- said she was a Christian, someone gets the wrong impression, and then to them all Christians are like that. I have to admit- too many Christians do not portray the true meaning of a Christian. Christians nowadays have the 'holier-than-thou' attitude. And we need to change it. We need to be more accepting. Not conforming to what other people are doing but accepting it instead of insulting it. Plus, some Christians scare people off by doing their 'Love Jesus or die in h**l' preachy things. We aren't supposed to preach it as blunt as that, but to do it through love. So as a Christian, I say we should stop being hypocritical and be more loving and accepting people.

  15. Yes, I don't like that user (she who shall not be named)

    She thinks she's 'it'.

  16. because I've come to realize that these religious people are only religious on sunday mornings and whenever else it's convenient to them.  Just trying to keep up with the Jones's...

  17. well, they're not ALL hypocrites. but there are many.

i went to two christian schools. you would not believe some of the things i've heard there. i lost count of how many told me i would go to h**l since i was open minded about other things in the world. i've heard people say that people who arent christians just "dont know any better" and that we have to pitty them. i also really disagree that christians are trying to force their religion upon others. it's happened to me so many times. i mean, have you ever had a buddhist missionary come to your town and preach to the masses? probably not. the only reason people "choose" to become christians in third world countries is because the are given a bit of food. and you can be d**n sure that any sane person will lie about their religion of they rely on getting food that way.
