Nadal is extrememly confused as i am about this lol! He got asked a question recently in an interview saying something along the lines of this ``your prone to getting bad injuries and many people think your body wont be able to cope with your style of play because it shall be to physically demanding``!!! Rafa replied ``i have one bad injury in 2005 with my foot at 19years old, but that is fixed now, im playing better than ever and my style of play is fine for my body`` Basically the media take everything out of porportion, if Rafa says he`s fine then he feels good about his body and game. The vast majority of people on here that say nadal will retire soon because has body cant cope, lets face it are mostly Roger fans lol wishful thinking for them aha! Besides Nadal no longer plays that style anymore, he doesnt just rally from the baseline, he plays more up court and shortens the points :)! His forehand volleying needs a little more work, sooo everyone better watch out when Nadal masters that aswell !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rafa for the Gold and US.

  1. People are just trying to find something wrong to pick out of Nadal's game. For right now, it is just "wishful thinking" like you said. What Nadal should be careful about is his schedule; he might turn into the Jankovic of the men's tour. We saw what happened against Djokovic in Cincinnati.

Whether or not he will have problems later on, maybe 25 years old or later, that remains to be seen. But it is a good idea that he further develops his net play (which is probably his only weak point now, given that he's improved his serve so much) so that he can end the points quicker and make it easier for himself. Really in this era of tennis most players don't come to the net enough or don't really come in on the right kind of approach shots.

Another thing Nadal should take note of is the body serve that bailed him out today. It was pretty impressive because Novak was whacking those returns and all of a sudden he had more to think about when returning. This is probably one of the main reasons Nadal won. If he can be that effective with the body serve, Nadal should use it a LOT more (as should most other players).

  2. Hey y don u divert a little from tennis??? wat about cricket!

    :)

  3. The only thing that matters is if Rafa feels good and if he does, he's gonna continue to play and win !! :).   People said two years ago that he could never last at the same level and he has !  Rafa has a knack of proving people wrong lol cause he proved everyone who said he was just a clay courter wrong :).  He's improving all the time so there's no reason for him to retire lol especially not when he has just become world #1 (on Monday :-P).  Rafa's gonna win gold and then the US Open !!

    Vamos Rafa !! xx

  4. They say that because of his style of play. He defends a lot and runs after every ball for every point. So there is a lot of exertion involved in every match. He is fittest at this age, but as he grows older he will have trouble maintaining that.

  5. he doesn't look like he's burned out to me, haha.-

rafa looks s**y in that photo :)

if burn out means two slams and an olympic final i'd wish and would be burning out, haha.-

  6. He will absolutely NOT BURN OUT OR RETIRE, THEY JUST HOPE HE WILL.  He has played his style of tennis all his life, its others that cant cope with it.  He can.  I dont think we'll see him playing in his 30s, but he'll be around for quite a while yet.

Everybody, take a look at my link below.

  7. Nadal will not retire from tennis, but he does play a grueling style of tennis which is basically beat me from the baseline if you can.  I agree if he develops a good volley game, then he will not have as much wear and tear.  People are worried about him because he has had to pull out of some tournaments (most recently, the tournament after Wimbledon) because of fatigue and I think there was some question about his knee for a while.  As long as Rafa doesn't kill himself by playing in too many tournaments and gets rest when he can, he should have  a very long and successful career.  I think Federer is burnt out from tennis and needs to refocus.  probably would be good for him to take a few months off and come back re-invigorated.  Nadal is really sharp right now and I think he is going to win the US Open as well as Olympic gold.

  8. because they r jealous of nadal. i hate those people who hate nadal. jeez i agree with your lovely s**y essay hahaha get on msn honey if u can please

  9. because his game IS physically demanding!! people find it hard to believe that any human body whatsoever can take this kind of tremendous effort continuously... everybody thinks that nadal is abusing his body and there has to be a point where his muscles will finally give up and won't take it any more.... what people forget is nadal is different, he has already managed to keep his #2 ranking for 4 consecutive years .. and when everybody started talking about nadal not being able to continue and  will be falling in the ranking he suddenly became #1... yes his game makes it hard to believe that he'll carry on, unlike federer who was called the effortless player.. nadal is quite the opposite...

the thing is nadal's super stamina both mentally and physically is the secret to his success , he was seen in his warm ups before matches he was running like he was playing the final of his life, nobody could believe that all that awful running for more than two hours was just a warm up!! while people save their effort for the actual match nadal needs a match before the match just to warm up!!!!

people don't believe anybody can have that much energy and they forget that nadal has it and much more.

  10. jealous, rafa se retirara a los 34, su juego no es fisico, es puro arte

  11. I don't think everything needs to be turned into Rafa vs Fed fans.  The fact is, Nadal's style of play is a lot more physically demanding, so it isn't a stretch for people to reach the conclusion you mentioned.  However, not many players are built like Rafa, so if anyone's body can handle it, it's definitely his.
