Why do people think bare minerals is good??????

I got bare minerals as a gift...and i am really fair skinned...and i was bought like the 2nd from the lightest skin tone...so it is a tad bit to dark for me so i don't even use it...but one of the shades it came with is pretty light...so i have tried it a few times...and i don't see what all the fuss is about...to me it looks cakey! i didn't even put that much on either...i have seen girls put on way more then me...and it seems to not cake up...why does it cake up on me????? is there something i am doing wrong????? or is it just the type of skin i have...I don't have pimples..and i don't even have freckles ...so its not like i am really even trying to hide anything...and it still looks like c**p...LOL honestly my face looks worse after i put it on...

That happened to me before. The problem is not so much how you apply your makeup its your skin type.What I started using was using a primer. (smash box photo finish, light) you can get it at sephora. It smooths my skin, melting away dry patches which makes makeup look cakey. I no longer have cakey looking makeup. It evens out my skin, prepping my skin for the foundation. You use it after your moisturise let it dry, apply the primer, let it dry then apply your bare minerals. It also makes your bare minerals last much longer. Its worth every penny. I don't know how I wore makeup without it!

you're probably doing something wrong. i have it in the 3rd color. and it works good.

either you don't moisturize like the others do, or you're not putting it on correctly, you need to buff it a lot.

omg, me too! i bought mineral makeup and when the person at the counter did it for me it looked awesome. when i did it, it was really bad. instead of moisturizing more like the first girl said. wash, moisturize. then let it soak in so your skin isnt dewy. just really soft. dont put anything else on. then try with a completely clean face. dont use primer.
