Why do people think cheerleading isn't a sport ! ?

cheerleading is just as much as a sport as football and basketball. we go to competiton's we need to do incredible tricks and stunts but why do people keep saying cheerleading isn't a sport!?!!!!!?!?!?!?!?

Because it isn't.Don't get me wrong.I'm the first to admit i like watching hot girls in short skirts,but I'll still say it isn't sport.In order for something to be a sport in my eyes it has to involve physical contact, and not just touching, I mean hitting or something like that.

Maybe if you all would stop complaining about it and just do the sport you love, like everyone else. People would take you more seriously.

All i have to say is that it is and if nascar is considered a sport then cheerleading should be one it s similar to gynastics and dance that are both sports. So i dont n why people think its a sport

Ugh, I know! They say we are just there to encourage the athletes, but we're athletes just as much as those other guys! They don't have to do the kinda stretching we do! They are being thrown 10 feet in the air! Or have to throw and catch people in the air! Not to mention all of the memorization that we have to do! I agree with moony up there! Cheerleading is both gymnastics and dance (and then some), and they're both sports, so shouldn't that make cheerleading, like, a double sport? Some people are stupid. Cheerleading is a sport!! Cheers!
