Question:

Why do people think it's awful to want to put pre-schoolers on the internet?

These days, it's not unheard of for a child in kindergarden and grade 1 to have access to the internet at school, or at least play games on the computer. Why is it so "taboo" to want to find places your kids can play safely online?

Children are growing up faster these days, and technology is advancing at a rate that computer/typing skills will be just as nessesary as learing to read/write. As with any thing else, if you want your children to learn something, the earlier the better, right?

  1. I agree.

My 5 year old brother and 3 year old sister have access to the internet, and they learned a lot about it very quickly. My parents also got them a leanguage software (which was desighned for children 13+), and my siblings are learning Mandarin on their own!

Small children are the safest on the internet, because it's not like they're going to chat with anyone!

  2. The problem is that too many children are not properly supervised while using the Internet andkids are spending too much time in front of a box, and not enough time being physical.

No child is going to encounter a pedophile while reading a nursery rhyme, although the same cannot be said for online.

  3. We let our kids use the internet, but we keep them on safe web sites with this program:
