Why do people think rats are so amazing?

Seriously, they smell, may bite, squeal, are easily stresed, yet I've seen basically fan clubs for the blooming things on here! So why do people think they're so amazing?

I honestly have no idea. Rats are useless pets to me. My respect to all of hose out there who love rats, but I just don't think they are cute.

they don't smell nearly as badly as a litterbox (even freshly scooped!), it's very rare for them to bite, they aren't nearly as loud as most other pets, and well bred ones don't stress easily at all.

They can be kept in small areas. They are happy to ride around on your shoulder. They aren't shy like most other pocket pets... I think they are comparable to dogs more than mice in terms of temperment. They can learn tricks. They can learn their names and come when called. They can be litterbox trained. They come in TONS of colors and patterns. They don't live so long as to be an overwhelming longterm responsibility. If you have an off day you can let them play amongst themselves and not feel guilty about not taking them for walks etc. They are inexpensive. Their food, bedding, and toys are cheap. There is a rat for everyone- tailless for people who don't like their tails, hairless for people who like something exotic, rex for people who like something soft and fluffy to pet, dumbo for people who love the eternal "baby" look....

I could go on and on...

They earn their fans many times over.

It's people who get them and stick them in a cage without trying to build a relationship with them that end up unhappy with a rat as a pet.

it depends on how you look at it.some people say rats are great pets because they are fairly playful and people love how to go around and causing mischief in the house like biting things and stuff.

some people say they are disgusting,horrible creatures that bite you as soon as you look at them.it's the point of view for most girls.you know them.

so it's all just in the point of view of the person.i,personally,haven't got much affection for such creatures but it's my point of view for them.i just respect how people react when they see such animals.
