Why do people think that Bigfoot is real?

I mean don't you think that if bigfoot was real that we'd already capture him, kill him, and put him in a museum? Same thing with aliens.. I believe that we would have already had contact with them..

I believe that the main reason people still believe in Bigfoot is they want that adventurous spirit to never die.  In a world where there is almost nothing left to the unknown, people want something to look for... something exciting to still be out there.

There are a couple other reasons that people still believe in Bigfoot and a few that explain why he may not have be found yet.

Bigfoot is not just a modern phenomenon, references to him can be found by Native Americans long before Europeans came to North America.  They have their own stories of Bigfoot and even have their own name... not a cognate taken from the English language.  The same goes for the few other countries with "sightings".  

It is totally possible that he could be a relative to a distant ape called Gigantopithecus which depictions are very similar.

As far as not finding him, there were sightings of giant squids for many years with one never being caught or even found dead... until about a year ago when one was found washed up on shore.

Also, everyone knows that chimpanzees exist.  There really isn't a debate on that.  The amount of chimpanzee fossils found, relative to the amount of chimps that are present in Africa is extremely low.  So low that one may not believe in their existence from fossil evidence alone.

So, what I am trying to say is... that just because we haven't found him, that doesn't mean he doesn't exist.  That doesn't mean that he does exist either.  As far as I am concerned, I think its a toss up.  I just kinda hope that he does exist to show people that sometimes we don't know everything.

The American Government has already made contact with aliens.... And as sure as the sun set big-foot is very real.....................

Some people believe in things that are mysterious and unproven because doing so fulfills a psychological need.

In many ways, it's like religious belief because it requires intense faith.

That's the thing, people have come into contact with both, but there's too many people that don't and cant believe.  With aliens..no c**p they're out there, there is no way that our planet is the only one in all of the universes that can sustain life.  And as for bigfoot, we don't know half the things we should know by now about our own planet! And whenever someone claims to have bigfoot DNA or anything, when they test it all they can say is that it came from an unknown animal.  That's why not many believe, but how are they going to match DNA from an an animal that we don't have on record! That's just stupid. big foot is real and it only makes sense.

Maybe because there are signs that make people think there's a Bigfoot like the hikers who claimed to have found a dead Bigfoot body.

We live underground. Humans are not ready for alien contact. Humans still kill each other. Aliens watching closely.
