Question:

Why do people think that Obama has not earned or worked enough to qualify him to be president? ?

Is it because McCain is a senior citizen? On Medicare? Is it because he's been in the Senate for close to 30 years, ran for president once before and lost the nomination to GWB and has kissed up to his administration for his party's nomination? Is anyone else sick of the lies the US government has spread to it's people? Or how about that the Republican Parties answer to the drastic unemployment in this country is for people to educate themselves more but make it impossible for any of us to PAY for this education they want us to have.

  1. I normally stay away from here and disregard 95% of what I hear. I wish the candidates knew that slamming the opponent to build yourself  is considered a bad leadership trait anywhere else. I am amazed to the extent the public jumps on board with this.

I will say that as an undecided I was impressed with Mr. Obamas speech last night. I like to see how they handle themselves under scrutiny and attack and I try not to listen to the commentators.

  2. I'm not very large on politics but we may never know until he is actually president.

Sometimes, in general and IMO, it takes more than just experience. Sometimes it takes someone who doesn't have the bias of a person who has been there and done that.

Basically what I'm saying is it really doesn't matter what anyone thinks or what he promises. As in all politics, we will only know when and if he is elected.

I don't think I want a "true and experienced" politician to be president (I'm assuming that's what McCain is) because he will know how to make things sound and look good and he'll serve two terms before we realize that it was all a lie (sound familiar?)

Again, I'm not exactly into politics but the principles are generally the same in any occupation/business decision.

Sometimes new is better than old.

  3. Most nations have always looked to the elderly for experience, knowledge and wisdom.  While the nation is potty training Barack Obama, McCain will already be accomplishing something for the American people.

However, I would have preferred a 60 year old General with 30 or 40 years of experience, because America has an enemy.  And this enemy is not going away and it walks among us.

  4. because he has done nothing.  also all the things he is saying that he is going to do in his big speech are the same things that the democrats have been blocking for the last 50 years along with their support of the labor unions.  when the dems say the word jobs-it is not everybody who gets a job it is just a small percentage of labor unionests who do and you are not allowed to join thier union!

they only fight wars when it helps the unions to do so.  e.i. auto workers!

they only give VA benefits when they can put a rider in the bill for labour unions.

they are anti god and believe in abortion.  they are evil as they try to twist the truth about the RC church.  Then the bishops had to come out and correct the lie that Pelosi spouted.

I could go on and on.

by the way the Repubs are not saint either!  but are the better pick of the two evils

  5. Maybe you can explain all of the things Obama has done and sacrificed in service to the nation?

The only things Obama has ever served is himself and the Democratic party.

  6. There isn't drastic unemployment in this country.  Perhaps there is in certain areas of the country, but that becomes each state's job to run their own economies. As a  whole, the country's unemployment isn't all that bad.

That's the problem that Democrats aren't seeing (or any party for that matter).  It is not good to have a central federal government controlling everything. It's horribly inefficient, too. State governments need to have much more power to manage their own states.  The federal government is too large and has too much influence right now.

Back to your question though..  Obama clealy doesn't have the experience needed, because he still thinks that you can eliminate failure and still be success.  If you eliminate failure, there's no longer any motivation for success and advancement.  If he truly overcame struggles during his life like he claims, he'd understand that.

  7. No Mrs B, it's because in the public sector he's had two positions, Illinois Senator and Senator to Washington from Illinois, each one term. A person needs much more experience than this to have a successful run at the Presidency, George W notwithstanding.
