Why do people think that aliens are evil, and if they came?

they would kill us, or destroy us? Maybe they would be a lot better looking than us, and would only be "exploring", they may help us solve some problems, or altogether ignore us, but why do you assume they come to murder and destroy? Wouldn't it be a 50/50?

  1. If they are an evolved life-form...  then I would expect that they would be the dominant species on their planet.

As the dominant, you would assume that they would be at or very near the top of the food chain, and treat lower species as such.

If they consider us a "lower" species of life. Who is to say that they wouldn't cage us, and treat us as "livestock"?

Think about it.  How do we treat our lower species?

I'm just saying it's the natural order of things.

  2. Aliens do not exist. Don't fall for all that hype.

  3. Not sure exactly what you mean by this but there is a chance that  it would cause massive destruction. The reason for this is, humans cant accept what is not similar to us, we are bound to our own faces. It would cause a lot of panic and chaos around the world if aliens were have said to be approaching earth. But we too may be a threat to the aliens and considered aliens ourselves by them. But since we humans understand a great deal too, we would most likely welcome them, depends on what the extraterrestrial life thinks of the us right. They could highly intelligent and a type 2 civilization considering that only they would make it to a planet like earth.  You should watch and read some of Michio Kaku's works, this man is a theoretical physicist and talks about this in a great sense.

  4. because everyone is paranoid and so narrow minded

  5. People have a lot of fear, and certainly in the human experience, contact between cultures of vastly different technological level has usually had unfortunate results for the less advanced one. I would like to think that visitors would prefer to study us from a "blind", much as ornithologists study birds. We'd not want to cause a panic and ruin what we're observing, yes?

  6. Let's say you are writing a science fiction novel.  Is it more exciting to beat up the invaders, or have everything turn out hunky dory?

    Invaders, of course.

But if that's what's available to spark the imagination, then evil aliens is what you think.  Read Carl Sagan's Contact (or see the Movie).  Smart aliens.  Good aliens.  Stupid humans. Drama from human stupidity.  A very good read. Available in your local library.

Or it could be our own experience.  What happened to the natives when Europeans came to America?

  7. People think that way because they assume that they'll be just like us humans. This is erroneous.

  8. Because it makes for interesting fiction to see us brave humans fighting the vicious and evil aliens and triumphing heroically.

It's actually probably considerably less than 50/50 that any aliens who come to Earth want to eat us. Aliens advanced enough to master space flight probably wouldn't even notice us, much in the same way that you didn't notice that anthill on the way to work this morning. They've probably got bigger and better things to be worrying about than what we are doing, we would be, at best, a scientific curiosity for them. The odds of an alien race of comparable technology to ours actually coming to Earth is so infidesimally small as to be negligible.

  9. well my friend wants to close down mcdonalds and give it to the aliens. O_o people think he's nuts(of course)

maybe the aliens are kinda nice, maybe mean no one can tell... yet

  10. I presume some are good and some are evil, just like humans.

even still, I doubt they have it out for us.  I mean, if they could make it out to Earth from wherever in the universe they are from, they are obviously an advanced, intelligent species.  imagine mankind having a 100,000 year evolutionary head-start.  we'd be flying to different galaxies, too!  either that, or we would have already destroyed ourselves.

we are a violent and immature species, h**l, look at the state of our planet right now.  I seriously doubt that any aliens (good or bad) would want to get mixed up with us right now.

  11. 50/50?  The aliens would have plenty to gain from us.  If you wonder what they have to gain from us, think of the African slave trade during the colonization of America.  Do you think that the Africans were appreciative of the Europeans with large shiny tubes that fit in their hands and made a loud boom?  Or how about the Native Americans Columbus encountered, who were sent to Spain as slaves?  Besides which, even if we DID believe that aliens weren't hostile, a group would still believe in force or defending themselves as a natural instinct...and the aliens would deem us hostile after a failed attempt at attacking the aliens.

  12. People are afraid of the unknown. In movies aliens are mostly depicted as evil.

If I saw an alien standing on a street corner I would be scared out of my socks. I don't know anything about this creature, all I know is that it came from outer space and is here looking at me. Maybe it wants to eat me, or rape me. The furthest thing from my mind is that it wants to be my friend, my buddy. The best thing for me to do is to kill it, because once it's dead I won't have to worry about being eatin, raped, or taken to some hot as h*ll planet and forced to pick carrots.

An alien race that traveled thousands of light years to get here would be so advanced that we would look like small minded monkeys to them. We would be the minnows in a shark pool. The turtles in a rabbit race. Basiclly the flies in a spider web.. they could do whatever thay wanted to us. They could force us to build pyramids, or farm alien carrots. Think about it...

If you walk up on a bear in the woods, he's not going to want to shake your hand and ask you to prevent forest fires. He's going to kill you because you're out of your element, a freaky looking creature that's invading his territory.. kill it now. Better safe than sorry, right?

  13. Well humans are very parinoid

if we do not completely understand somthing or if its not in our control we try to kill it

in the 1800's a ship was a few miles from shore and a weird thing that had a snake like head swam by it rose from the water and the first thing the pasengers did were herpoon and shoot the animal. there were never any reports of a similar creature after that.

2006 a bald coyote stubles in a small town near texas no one knew what it was so they vedio taped it . at the end of the video the family wanted to kill it.this was on you tube

june 2008 a small furry thing runs through some girls yard and the first thing she screams is Imgonna KILL it!

if aliens that wanted peace for the universe came they would probably kill off the humans because were so destructive and cant even take decent care of life on our own planet

that or they'd force feed info on how to help ourselves and then make a speedy getaway b4 we could fear them so much that we'd kill them

if the aliens ignored us that would probably be the smartest life out there(if there is any)

humans just fear things out of our control then out of fear we want to destroy it once we find out how it ticks

example tornadoes its not even living, we cant control it ,we fear them, we study them, then we find ways to destroy them, like how we used to lower blocks of dryice or ice to mess up the opposite temperatures circleng eachother.

    example: elephants

we cant control them, we fear they'll bring destruction to us, we study them and find their easily lead into traps when they're startled, and in those traps we slaughter enough of them to keep populations down

to sum all of that up we fear them and dont ever take chances
