Why do people think that major corporations and people like Al Gore are going to benefit from global warming?

I am a skeptic.  I do not believe Al Gore is doing this for personal profit.  I think he truly believes in his agenda which I do not think is to make himself more money.

Corporations are another issue.  Of course major corporations will make money from this.  Who is naive enough to believe that some corporations would not make money?  BP and Chevron are huge investors in green energy.  GE has been lobbying congress to cap CO2 emissions which they would not do if they didn't design nuclear power plants, wind turbines, hydro-electric turbines, etc.  If it was not for profit, why would corporations create green energy and products?  If it was not for profit, how could they make these products?

Somebody is going to profit either way. Who would you rather give our money to?

A. There's the group that creates, manufactures and profits from products/technology that fouls the land, air and water, dumps chemicals in the rivers and ocean, rendering our air, water and food unsafe and destroying the natural beauty of the planet.

B. Or there's the group that would profit from creating, manufacturing and selling sustainable, renewable products that leave nature pretty much intact and food and water safe.

And since when is it anti-American to make a profit? I can't believe that Americans are praising group A for profiting from destruction, but bashing group B for profiting from cleaning up the destruction caused by group A.

I think they start off by not liking Al Gore so they try to come up with motives that will fit their concept of him. They don't want to believe anything he says, so they say that it's all about profit.

Of course they don't think about companies that might lose if we deal with global warming, like the oil companies.  Exxon, for example, made over $40 billion in profits last year.  If that's not good motive for trying to confuse the issue, I don't know what is.
