Why do people think the Bible story of the talking donkey is silly WHEN God is all powerful? God created... ?

If he can do that, how is making an animal talk supposed to be unbelievable?

I know many things in the Bible were NEVER meant to be literally true. There are many metaphors, BUT God is all powerful and I am prepared to believe the story with the donkey was an historical event.

It is NOT silly once you actually sit down and examine all the facts.

In the words of a wise man I know:  I think you missed the message for the messenger.  Believing that a donkey was talking was not the message trying to be conveyed.  Try not reading too much into things that obviously can't happen in real life.  You may learn something.

well when you believe in God's word than i will guess nothing he does its silly,because with him of course nothing is impossible, i think its silly when certain people believe in GOd but yet dont obey him knowing that he can give you enternal life and people prefer to listen to thier sinful nature and know that they can go to h**l.

I completely agree. God could create the whole world in 6 days then rest for one day. How could anyone doubt that he has the power to make an animal talk? think about this:

No. When you sit down and examine the facts you see a very contradictory book written by men. Seeing as most christians cite proof of their faith through the bible and the bible is contradictory there's little point in further discussion. If the bible's not meant to be literal how do you ever know when you've gotten the TRUE message? You can't.

Show me proof that jesus existed, beyond the bible, as I can take his whole existence as a parable or mid-rash if I choose by your logic. A person that impacted history that much should surely have some document somewhere proving he existed.

I had a horse that refused to walk down one trail of the stable she was at. I hired a trainer, and he got hurt trying to make her walk down that path. A few weeks later a car went down that trail and fell into an old abandoned septic tank. wrecked the car and didn't do much for the driver. It would have really messed up both a horse and rider. From then on, I learned to listen when my pets "talk" to me. Not all talking is in English.

I believe everything in the Bible. I believe a snake talked. I believe a donkey talked. I believe the earth stood still for one day. I believe the walls of Jericho fell with just a shout. You know why it's stupid?  When the donkey started talking, the rider wasn't even shocked or mildly surprised.  He started talking back to the donkey.  You think that's realism?
