Why do people think the US has no more oil?

This is the most resourcefully rich nation on earth. I have heard confirmed reports of trillions upon trillions of barrels of oil in the Dakotas, Rockies, California coast, and ANWR. Why can't we drill these and be fully independent. As far as I'm concerned its a lie that we produce fewer oil than Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia produces the most oil in the world a has for the past four years.

The United State gets most of their oil from Canada and the second most of their oil from Saudi Arabia.

Could be true. But without the capability to refine that oil drilling won't do anything to lower the price at the pump. But it will line the pockets of big oil. Because if they can't refine it then they will sell it on the open market and that leaves us where we are. Paying more to get to work than we actually make.
