if "Nibiru" was really coming ,dont you think that amateur astronomers would have spotted it,it would be causing havoc in the outer solar system at present, which we could observe and even feel here on earth. These people who believe cant prove a single thing ,there is no hard evidence or 100% proof .

its only 4 years away ,why cant we see it or feel it, ill tell you why,it is a hoax which people who have no idea about astronomy believe

read a physics book,we would know about it by now ,government wouldnt be able to cover it up

  1. Im not sure but I have ran across that claim many times on here I know that.   One thing I read said they heard about it by studing the aztecs or the Maya people or something and then I saw a videio about it on Utube but I forget what that guy said something about globel warming I think, don't remember now.  My mother told me once that it says in the Bible no one can predict the end of time so if someone claims the world will end on said day then the world would not end that day simply because someone perdicted it.

  2. In a word, yes. Those folks know no science, want to know no science, and are of some demented vie that their willful ignorance still entitles them to speak on this with some credibility.

Its all a mania of loons seeking some kind of End Of The World, which they hope/expect will be an event where something will place them on a higher status than they have at present.

Apocalypse mania is as old as human stupidity. Unfortunately.

  3. I'm not sure if i really belive in all that mumbo-jumbo but have you ever thought that something could happen like "paranormal" never mind that's just un-realistic   but still this scares the heck out of me because I'm only 14 and i want to be a father and be an adult and stuff

  4. i wouldnt worry about the fictional Nibiru, but sounds like the doom sayers are out an about since 2012 is the last year period of the Aztec calander, that is techincally when all suppose to end "atleast for the Aztec"

and i think its 2014 is a possiable near collision with an asteroid. Always been doom sayers.

But lets say this Nibiru is there and traveling in an odd orbit (it hasnt been seen yet) so we will assume is a kieper belt object smaller then pluto, we most likely "wouldnt" see it coming for a few reasons.

1:there is no real reason to look for it.

2:even with telescopes unless your looking at the right spot and pic capturing your not going to see anything moving.

3: There is surprising low funding on organizations dealing with near earth or cross orbit objects. (since we really couldnt do anything anyhow presently.)

But yes i agree it would be pretty hard to cover up another planet hurtling towards us, atleast when it becomes visable to your amatuer astronomers.

Good question i havent heard about Nibiru in a long long time :)

  5. You've answered your own question. Yes, about 95% of people are just incredibly dim. It would serve you well to keep this in mind in the future, and also to keep in mind the other 5%.

  6. Well I would be more polite and just call them gullible, but yes you are pretty much right.

  7. Well its because its coming up from the southern hemisphere they say. It suppose to be visible in the southern hemisphere in 2009. Well, the American government rushed to build a telescope in Antarctica a short while back. Why the h**l would America put a telescope in Antarctica costing us BILLIONS of dollars pushing us into trillions of dollars worth of debt? But do you think they will be the first to tell us that Nibiru is coming? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the fact that America threw up 6 satelites into space to watch how the sun reacts in the coming years (maybe due to the gravitational pull from this object?) maybe from this object coming? Come on, if NASA knew this was coming and wanted us to know what was going on in space, dont you think they'd have some live streaming video coming from the devices they use in space to show us what they were looking at speaking of the budget they have recieved...............NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

  8. Be careful or your hubris will be your downfall. Your 'ivory castle of safety' that you have built in your mind will not only come crashing down, but will be obliterated!

2012 is just the revealing of the 'antichrist' or the 'man of lawlessness' at the middle of what Jews and Christians call the 7 year Tribulation. Many pagan cultures (Sumerians, Babylonians, Cherokee, Hopi, Chinese I-Ching {confirmed by T.McKenna}, Mayans, Egyptians, Celts, Satanists, etc...) celebrate this evil event called "the abomination that causes desolation". When will Yeshua Ha'Mashiach (Jesus) come? Only God Himself knows, but soon. If you believe or not, that is up to you. Either way it still comes.

Things to look for to PROVE it to yourself soon:

Crash of American banks and its financial underpinning: Operation Sitting Duck

Fall of America as an economic power and other ways.

The Big One: Revelation 18. America goes down on the list of fabled societies nobody believes in any more like Atlantis, Mu, Lemuria, Hyperborea, etc..

Martial law. (Google some of Bush's executive orders concerning it- Nightmarish!)

Trying to make people first accept the REAL ID card (to get you in the system) and then right after forcibly implanting people with RFID chips (Google: 'Verichip Corp"):

The start of the North American Union.

Push to attack Iran which will start WW3-the atomic war to end all wars. (If you think China, Russia, and the Muslim world would just sit back, you are a mistaken fool!)

Final push to one world government: The New World Order- The 4th Reich!

(The brutal final empire foreseen by Daniel and John)

Push to one world religion where there are "manys ways to God".

Toleration of everything but Jews and Christians.

More world wide food shortages and famines.

More earth quakes. More fires. Strange and severe weather.

Temporary and unheard of "peace in the middle east".

Rise of a miraculous and awe inspiring world leader later to turn world dictator.

    Major spiritual awakenings.

    Rise of Islamic fanaticism.

    Rise in wickedness and corruption.

Implementation of Project Bluebeam (be ready to hear more and more 'alien talk'... watch your local skies for the show!) Google and youtube it. Aliens... aliens... aliens...

Christians and Messianic Jews look forward to this as it means they will soon join their Messianic Saviour in the Millennial Kingdom of the next Age and their Heavenly Father later as "Children of Light".

If you try to equate 2012 with Y2K or some other date that cried wolf, then you will be making the worst mistake in your life. Research all these things FOR YOURSELF!

  9. Some of them are greedy and after money and fame from selling books and doing TV shows.  They get the whole thing started off.

The rest of them are just gullible and believe the first group.  They believe it because they want to believe it, it seems exciting and romantic and all that jazz so they'd rather live in the fantasy than the real world.

  10. They watched a really slick History Channel documentary dealing with the aztec or mayan calendar that made absurd claims.  Unfortunately some people, being completely uncritical in their thinking,  believe whatever they see on TV.  Then they only view material on the internet which confirms what they saw on the TV show and they only have friends that share the same silly ideas.  Its quite pitiful.  These people, usually middle school students, are the ideal consumers.  Completely un-critical, they believe what they are told, and buy whatever advertising tells them to buy.  They are quite pathetic.

  11. That's your word, not mine but I wholeheartidly agree with you!  You can tell them till you are blue in the face and they still wont believe you.  Same with the 'we never went to the moon' people.  I gave up trying to tell them the truth because they believe what they want to believe.  It is so frustrating how closed minded that people can be.

  12. The Chicken Little syndrome.  People who believe this stuff tend to go for all the big rushes in life.  If they're the kind who aren't into bungee jumping or skydiving, they just believe in a lot of weird things.  They like getting themselves all breathless over something and can't resist seeing if they can make other people hysterical.  It's a mental pathology, aided by irresponsible, money-grubbing media.  The History Channel is largely responsible for this one.

You're right.  These people are ignorant and intellectually lazy.  They lack critical thinking skills.  They are too trusting of sources and are intractible in their beliefs, once established.  Usually, no amount of facts, logic, or reason will dissuade them, so you have to add a high degree of stubbornness to the profile.

This kind of belief is more fun than some, for us skeptics, because we always have an absolute proof that they were wrong, when the date comes.  But even then, most of them will argue and equivocate and make excuses, and then rush headlong into the next doom prediction they can get their hands on.

Finally, they just like to sound like big shots and know-it-alls.  They see themselves as the ones with all the privileged inside scoop.  They want to be the center of attention around the water cooler.  Ego.

Edit:  Elmer, you are definitely one of them.  I'd like to know what legitimate source of information you used for all that bunk.  What you said is NOT a "scientific fact."  Why do people like you answer questions on science forums when you don't know what you're talking about?  And you KNOW you don't know what you're talking about, don't you?

  13. The issues seems to be energetic waves emanating from the center of the galaxy outward through the ecliptic plane. On December 21, 2012 at 11:11am our solar system comes into direct alignment with the most intense of these energy waves.

This is a scientific fact, however it will not bring an end to the "world". Earth will continue as will life on it. You can however probably bet that life as we know it today will not.

  14. Not necessarily stupid, but certainly very gullible.

And notice how the ones who make these claims are invariably NOT scientifically literate.
