  1. In order to answer the question intelligently, there should probably be a question posed in return...Can you think of something where there might be no reason for it at all?!? Even the most simple of behaviors have reasons for them...even if it's just to make you happy, or, on the contrary, to hurt someone on purpose...

i.e. something parasitic still has a reason, unless you ask it's host, then, it's a nuisance...however, for the former, life can only exist if it actually HAS a host to live off of, so, it's "reason" for living, is just that...to find a host in order to survive...thus, everything is relative.

    peace,

    baldy

  2. humans brains' are wired to find out things-to figure out a reason for something, or figure out a problem. no, there doesn't have to be a reason for everything.

  3. Hmm. Some people's mind prefers, I guess to have things organized in a cause->effect type of schema.

  4. There really doesn't need to be.  Mostly, it's because of religious messages saying that "God has a plan for everything".

However, I don't think that's always a bad thing, even if I am an atheist.  Have you read "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe?"  In the book, there is a torture device called the Total Perspective Vortex, which shows the victim how insignificant they are in the universe, allegedly the most horrible torture device in the universe.

I think it's important to feel as if we're more important than we really are, just so we have some personal reason to keep living.  Objectively, I think life doesn't mean much, but for the moment, I think it's better than the alternative.

  5. Because there always is a reason. There is nothing without a reason.

  6. there doesnt. some things arent found

  7. I believe there is a reason for everything.  The reason is due to a situation at hand you may ask yourself or have found yourself asking: "Why did this happen to me?" You may not understand right away. Later you find yourself with something more positive almost as if it was placed in front of you mysteriously to make it better.  Basically there are all these theories on how we got here originally how this earth was created.  Therefore leaving a faith in the idea that someone or someones are in charge of this creation. We have evolved in numorous ways from technology, evolution etc.  How can we be soo far advanced? Almost as if we have been recreated with an advanced mind. Some people may feel our lives are pre-destined and it's our decisions that change the outcome of our lives. There is a reason because we either find ourselves in a better place in life from working at it and by learning from mistakes. Those who fail is because they do not want to succeed at anything and ignore those messengers who are there trying to help them.  Here is another way of looking at there is a reason for everything. I was pregnant with my ex fiance. I did not know until I had an accident at work slipping on the wet floor and falling spraining my arm.  Two days later I end up in the hospital with severe pains in my stomach.  I found out after all these tests I was pregnant having a miscarriage.  Thank God the pregnancy failed as I ended up leaving the ex-fiance who was a jerk. I find this a blessing in disguise. I find there was a reason for this as now I am with the man of my dreams. I could go on and on forever on this subject. Oh one more thing, by the time it takes me to finish writing this and you or others reading this post; it would be saving me time driving home to avoid that car accident on the way home.

  8. cuz there is one.....thats just the way it is smartness

  9. There doesnt always have to be a reason for every thing sometimes things just cant be explained. Its like sometimes its out of your control and someone is looking out for you and your fate. Some people think that their needs to be a reason for everything because they dislike things that aren't obvious and easy to be explained or that are right in front of their face.

  10. For the need to go on...

but for the unfortunate ones  that are quite too precise

    end it

  11. Humans are to patterns as cats are to mice. We see them everywhere. When you look at clouds they have a familiar compositional symmetry that is not mirroring or wallpapering. A mathematician actually figured out how clouds have symmetry and created complexity theory. Man will always see patterns in everything, it is his evolutionary bonus gift. What is ironic is that the very talent that allows us to scrutinize for patterns (differentiation,) also makes us see flaws in every system and tear apart the very projects our psyches so desperately need.

We seek patterns, destroy them and reform them continually. What a huge outlay of mental energy!

  12. Reason, logic, and rational think, exists so it must have a source, or cause.

We all recognize for every cause there is an effect. That the laws of gravity are not inherent just to our planet.

Most have accepted that something of intelligent is behind all that is the un-caused, cause.

Everthing has a pattern as with your shadow.

Religion has been the search for this as well as philosophy and science all have reached some conclusions.

Many believe that The Urantia Book offers a clear and concise integration of science, philosophy, and religion. Those who read and study it believe that The Urantia Book has the capacity to make a significant contribution to the religious and philosophical thinking of people worldwide. Note; Urantia is an ancient name for Earth.

  13. Some people believe in fate and a reason for everything that happens in the world, some people don't.

Some people believe that everything you do as a person has a reason. They probably expect you to be this, but you're really just going with it. Perhaps that's why people analyze people--to figure out their reasoning so that they can apply it to themselves and be familiar with others. Human curiosity, or expectations.

If you think about it, doing something for no reason probably has a reason. If there is a consequence involved, there is a reason. And everything we do in this life bares a consequence.

  14. Question 1:

Because people are afraid that life could possibly be devoid of meaning, therefore everything they do serves no higher meaning than personal gain. If someone were to tell you 'your life is meaningless and no matter how much you try to prove your existence, you will inevitably fail', how depressed would you be. Even if it's a life, it fills people with hope.

    Question 2:

There needs to be a reason because things we're unfamiliar with frighten us. Therefore, without reason things would seem chaotic and any understanding of our situation would seem futile.

People need purpose, even if it's a complete lie.

  15. Because without reason, there is no god. People who see a reason for everything either seek or have a basic knowledge of god. In other words, reason is a way to find excuses where there are none. It's much easier for me to say "it's god's will" than to admit that I don't know why she broke up with me. That kind of thng.

  16. because there is a reason for everything. everything must have a reason to be something. whether it be small or big, size or impact, everything happens for a reason, so that the next thing happens for a reason. it's how the universe works.

  17. People want to understand things and one of the most common errors they make is that there has to be a purpose or reason for everything.  It is probably from a tendency of the brain to fill in the gaps in our understanding of things not unlike how it fills in the gaps of our vision for things we don't focus on.

  18. the human mind needs motivation, if there is no reason for anything then there is no reason to do anything.
