Why do people think your racing just because you have nice or quick car?

For instance stop lights if you give little too much gas people think yur racing and passing they speed up thinking your racing and not passing.

I know exactly what your talking about. It's because people are a) ignorant, b) have a chip on their shoulders about anything, and c) dont want to "lose."  Especially guys, even though you're not racing they dont want to "lose."  I find it's best to ease off and let them look like a fool as you pull up to the next light, and it sinks in that they are racing to nowhere.

Side note: I also find it funny when a person zips past you at about 80 on the highway, only to get stuck in a turning lane, or at a light.. as you stroll on by them.or up next to them. oh, they were in such a hurry, but now look where it got you..nowhere.

How do I know? My weekend car is a Lotus Elise. There's not much out there that's faster than it.

I drive a fast muscle car as my daily driver. I'll find more often then not people try to get me to race whenever I'm at a stoplight, or they try to get me to rev my V8.

But seriously street racing is so dangerous it boggles the mind. I only race at the track and to be perfectly honest, the track is the only racing that actually means anything. Racing on the street has so many unknown variables in an uncontrolled environment. Quite honestly I think it's stupid.

The key is to just to ignore them. They're the ones that end up looking stupid. And if you're passing someone and they think you're racing, you're obviously not passing someone at a reasonable speed.

Bc the ppl most likely tom buy a nice or quick car are more than likely to want to race there friends or against each other. its a streo type the world's  full of them.
