i dont think the situation in iraq can be called war,

war is something like what we had in georgia,

iraq is an insecure country desperate for peace,

even if US pulls out, later on peacekeepers have to go in again

  1. Because people are shooting at and bombing our troops.

  2. because their was a war in iraq

  3. You are right, it is not a war. It is a US invasion.

  4. Occupation ... war same thing really

  5. We invaded them. That is technically a war.

And since the Iraq war is something totally different from the "war on terror", it makes sense to call it the Iraq War. Kinda like the Korean war, Vietnam war, etc.

*Are You Dry Shaving Me: "Liberals call is a oil war.............they're that dumb."

I think I would re-think that statement, maybe go in there with a spellchecker and remove any irony.

  6. "Counterinsurgency operations" doesn't quite have the same cachet, does it?

  7. You must be joking.  All the countries the US have invaded would benefit from the departure of US troops.  When the US invades countries, and those countries fight back, I think the appropriate word is war.  That is how most of the rest of the world perceives it.

  8. If they said American War, it could be America's war with any country.

  9. I think what the US should do is pull out and **** all over Iraq's face.

  10. Situation in Georgia is a conflict , not war. Iraq has oil. US needs it. We're there. They don't like it= WAR. How's that?

  11. The Government does not actually refer to it as the Iraq War, on government gravestones they read "Operation Iraqi Freedom" or "Operation Enduring Freedom".

People use the term War, because we are sending soldiers there and they are getting shot at. Like we refer to The Vietnam War, not Police Action.

Sorry, I am a gravestone person.

  12. i agree, it should be re~named *operation ~ stuffed up*

  13. the unstable situation is caused by political reason, and so i'll call it war

  14. Because that is what it's called when one country invades another, like when bush had the USA invade iraq.

  15. I recently attended a screening of the documentary film produced by an Italian filmmaker, and containing interviews with former U.S. marines and others, it exposes the truth about the U.S. military's use of white phosphorus in Falluja (which is a violation of the Geneva Conventions and international human rights law).
