Why do people walk like........?

when humans walk their arms always swing on the opposite side of their legs. 4 example if im walking and i step w/ my right foot my harm goes left. and if u try 2 walk w/ the same arm and foot it feels extremely weird. SO ID LIKE TO KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENS!!!???

  1. When you walk, your center of gravity moves from side to side.  Moving your arms opposite to the motion of your legs causes the weight of your arm to compensate somewhat for the the weight of your leg, which in turn helps to keep your overall center of gravity nearer the center.

    The closer your center of gravity is to your vertical center, the closer you remain to being in balance, and the harder it is to throw you off balance.  So we intuitively develop this habit when we learn to walk.


  2. there is no science on this. we learn to walk that way. if you try to walk right hand left foot and left hand left foot, you don't feel a difference. it's just how we are used to
