Why do people want De La Hoya to fight Pacquiao? a much smaller man?

In a recent poll done by yahoo, they show that most people want De La Hoya to fight Cotto next. The next runner up is Pacquiao, a much smaller man. Do people understand that although Pacquiao is very good, he is a 135 lbs boxer and De La Hoya is 154 lbs?

Actually it was de la Hoya's choice to fight Pacquiao.

He don't want to fight Hatton because he said Hatton is too small for him, yet Pacquiao is smaller than Hatton. Very funny

People who love Oscar want to see him end his career with a fight over the pound for pound champ right now.   The other thing is Oscar can't beat anyone his weight or bigger.  You notice that after the Bernard Hopkins KO he doesn't fight bigger fighters cause he can't hurt them & he doesn't take that good of a punch from bigger guys.   Hopkins is over the hill & dominated Oscar from the opening bell until he KO'd Oscar the only guy to do that & he wasn't that much bigger than Oscar.   Also did you notice how he tried to fight Hatton much smaller fighter,  why doesn't he call out Pavlik or Calzaghe?  Because they are too big & can take his punch & will knock him out!!!

Oscar should retire permanently he's washed up!!!

It's just so completely silly. De La Hoya is too strong and too big for the Pacman.

It would be foolish for Pacquiao to ever go above 145.

I don't know. that is one of the biggest mis-matches ever if they did. But also Manny is called the mexican assassin so maybe it could be billed as that or something but I don't see why any fan would want that. Thats like mayweather vs Pavlik
