It's human nature to wnat someone to comfort and sympathize with you there is nothing wrong with it. If you have a child you know that you have to show sypathy and understanding to make the hurt or worries to stop If you have this as a child you learn to care

Because they are totally lacking in self-confidence, thanks to attending public schools and society in general.

If a person teaches him/herself to do something, that person is a success and therefore should have self-confidence, but schools and society at large are always ready to say "You are a failure" and people believe what they hear.

So, stand up for yourself; don't listen to all you hear, be confident, and you won't want sympathy.

I live a country where almost everyone believes that they are pore and can do nothing to change their condition. They are able to cry at the drop of a hat and be laughing a second later. They share their misery, if only to reinforce their misery. Truth is that they are one week away from starvation at anyone time and count on family members living and working abroad to provide, which only makes them lazy cause they can count on how bad the rice crop was this season to get what little cash they rally need.

The Philippines is one of the richest country on earth, Gold,copper,silver,vanadium,chromite and mercury is abundant on almost every Island. But the government makes it impossible for the locals to mine cause the government controls it and want theirs share off the top. So the Filipino consoles each other in their poverty, with tears and staying drunk.
