Question:

Why do people want to vote for Obama?

I find it disturbing that people are voting for Obama simply because he is black. They have this sense that they want to be part of "history". Well not all historic moments are good. Ask yourself a question, in a colorless society, would this man have the nomination? Of course not, you can complain about Bush all you want, but how has it effected you personally? War is war, people die. Economies shrink and grow. But the country now is on a precipice. A vote for Obama, is a vote for every social program under the sun, deserved or not. Vote against him and race relations are destroyed. Ask a black why they are voting for Obama, they will say because he is black, proudly. Imagine asking a white person why are you voting for McCain, and getting a response "because he is white"? Status quo is not always bad. What specific changes from Obama promises will effect you personally. Has he even made any?

  1. I thought people in the US, just as in the UK, could vote for the candidate of their choice because they live in a democracy. Would you wish it any other way?

In 1979 I was 18 and therefore eligible to vote. Women of my grandmothers' generation fought hard for the right for women to vote. I was proud to do so and exercised that hard won right. Amongst those standing  was one Mrs Margaret Thatcher. Her conservative politics were the antithesis of everything I believed in. Many people voted for her because she was a woman. I didn't, despite being a feminist. I can understand why people admire her, but our politics are diametrically opposed. I endured 19 years living under Tory rule. To be frank the Labour government have faired little better. The economy is still in a mess, wars are still being fought, the divide between rich and poor still remains as wide but - and this is important - you and I both live in countries where we can exercise our beliefs by voting. I could have taken the step Mrs Thatcher had, that Obama has, to step up and say I know how to do this and am ready to take the responsibility. But you know and I know it takes an incredibly driven person to do such a thing. It's easy to disagree with politicians, much harder to do the job they do.

Try living in China or Zimbabwe. You would be risking you life to say what you think. Voting is out of the question. We may be unhappy with those who stand and win but we have the choice to say how we feel about it.

    Value that freedom.

  2. People are not voting Obama just because he's black.

Seriously, have you seen how screwed our country has gotten?!

They're voting Obama because they don't want to go through another 4 years of what happened the last 8. And people MUST have their eyes closed when he talks about all the change he's gonna make. HAVE YOU SEEN THE DEMOCRAT CONVENTION?! He talked about all the change he was going to make there.

And republicans are annoying. "Obama is for abortion!!!!! He wants to kill an innocent baby's life!!!!!"

Well, sometimes a woman cannot care for the child. So women, let me ask you, would you rather have the government take control of your body and what you can and cannot do? or would you rather have control over your own body and what you can do?

John McCain is struggling to get 10,000 people to come to his showing.

And how many did Barack Obama have?

Oh yeah, that's right, 84,000. It's because people don't want to see 4 more years of the last eight years.

  3. he black

  4. I will vote for Obama...and here are only a few reasons...

I'm afraid of McCain becoming president because it will be extremely damaging. I mean if we don't do anything about global warming the polar ice caps will melt and essentially put US coast and major cities under water. There's nothing to govern if we have no country to live in. The war in Iraq is never going to end as long as we are dependent on oil. Drilling off shore will still not be enough to completely fuel America if we were to continue using oil. So giving a 3rd world country in search of obtaining nuclear weapons money will only fall from about 79 billion to 59. Money that we are still borrowing from china who owes us nothing and has the greatest economy in the world at the moment. And to vote Palin as VP who is a women completely inexperienced to think that McCain thinks we are stupid enough to vote based on s*x only is insulting. McCain really looks down on the American people.

Palin is a nobody and was picked by McCain after one visit. Its obvious that her qualification or lack there of was NOT the reason McCain picked her...But only the fact that she can wear a pencil skirt. PALIN IS NO HILARY! She is a poor choice for someone who could potentially be the President of the United States. If you are unable to see that, then I really don't know where you draw the line for experienced/inexperienced or progression /regression.

War is a big issue yes...But for the last 7 years our approach has not been THOROUGHLY reevaluated. This is ONE issue. To a number of issues. health care, economy, environment, taxes, jobs, and education that McCain is all inexperienced in. We can't afford for these issues to sit on the back burner AGAIN for another 4 years!

Vote for Obama. How can anyone say Obama doesn't have loyalty to the people when he turned down cooperate CEO jobs to work for the people DIRECTLY??? And instead of sipping champagne at rich republican party's kissing *** he was working in closet size offices in inner city's to support families that lost their job and health care to foreign countries, Obamas been working for the people of this country black, white, g*y, straight and of all religions. Open your eyes and look beyond the visual perceptions.

  5. What dream world are you living in, there are a whole lot more people who are going to vote against Obama because he is black than are going to vote for him, I always find people saying how good the blacks got it, but none of those people would change places with a black guy.

I got to admit, Obama did not have a whole lot of experience, but that was last week, can you imagine the democrats nominating a black guy, who 2 years ago was mayor of a town with 7000 people in it. Watch the old Andy Griffth show, is the mayor of Mayberry qualified to be president.

  6. How has Bush effected me personally? How about trying to send me to Iraq when I was in the army? It is easy to just say 'war is war' as long as you are not involved. But someone has to follow the commander-in-chief's orders, and if those orders are mistakes, soldiers die. We die. Even though I am not in the army anymore, I will continue to base how I vote partly on what is best for our men and woman fighting so that you don't have to. And what is best for them is that we have some direction and competence, and that means I'm voting for Barack Obama.

But besides that, I think insuring every American has health insurance is reason enough to vote for Barack Obama if you want something that effects me specifically. On the other hand, everything that McCain has promised will only affect me negatively.

  7. 2 words "False Prophet".

    Thats all Obama is.

He promises change but their is an air of Tony Blair about him. All fake smiles, crooked handshakes and empty promises that he couldn't deliver on.

Of course when Obama fails to deliver they will look for someone to blame, becuase in the eyes of he Democrats their "messiah for change" is faultless.

Back in 1997 in the UK we were promised change by Tony Blair and his party. Now the country is barely recognisable, in debt and in wars that were not in the publics interest and has brought Islamic terrorism to our front door, and how did Mr Blair manage this? by promising "change".

  8. He went to harvard and is a constitutional scholar. He did not BAD grades like Bush,  I will stop right there, as McCAin and Palin's educational is well not enough to get hire as  a manager of a  my company. Or CEO
