  1. Grip on the wheel buddy..

That and the looking cool factor    haha

  2. For the same reason one wears a smoking jacket when taking a cigar after dinner.

  3. only murders wear them they say they're driving gloves but its really so they dont leave fingerprints.

    jk i have no idea!

  4. When you hold the steering wheel, your hands are above your elbows which restricts bloodflow to your hands,

Thus gloves keep your hands warm despite restricted circulation

  5. Cars take a while to warm up when it's cold, and it keeps your hands from slipping off the steering wheel as well.

  6. Originally it was just for better grip.  Now it'a all about looking  kewl!

  7. I had to wear them driving Army trucks in Iraq.  I was driving 16 hours a day on those crappy roads.  I went to the doctor when my hands went numb.  He said to wear gloves to reduce the vibration.  It worked.  After a few weeks, the numbness went away.

  8. I used to have a pair. They were very useful in very cold weather and in very hot weather. They help one to grip the steering wheel, which can be icy in winter and burning hot in summer.

  9. I enjoy wearing driving gloves...  I have smooth skin on my hands, and have to think about gripping the wheel without them.  With them, the leather glove finds easy cohesion on the leather and suede wheels fitted in my cars.   I have much eaasier and more complete control of the car whilst wearing them.  Wouldn't you agree driving barefoot would not be ideal?  The same sort of reasoning, it is all about feel and also protection, should an accident occur.

Lastly, I have a touch of arthritis, and they help keep my fingers warm and the blood circulation high...  And if people wore driving gloves, it might stop them making illegal use of their cellphones!   Three cheers for gloves!!

  10. my dad thinks it makes him look like a racing driver and therefore makes him cool. :D

  11. I use to wear some in winter when I was driving my old car because the heating was buggered.

  12. Better grip on a slippery steering wheel.

    Posing.

  13. Driving gloves wear originally introduced into sports cars and racing cars, to give better grip, but the steering wheels in cars now tend to have a better grip feel to them and have softer materials around them, so you are right, in that ordinary cars do not require them, but there are still sports steering wheels being manufactured of hard (alloy/wood) which do still require the glove.

  14. DuH! Because they look cool. ha

  15. My dad and grandad do... I'm not entirely sure why.  I think its just to keep hands warm on winter days, and to stop them getting sweaty in the summer?  I don't know, madness!

  16. I think some do it to look kewl. If one wants to maintain a good grip, they should get a steering wheel cover.

  17. racing drivers use them so there must be some truth in the myth that they are s***, maby we should all wear them and a racing helmet,

  18. Gives a better grip on the steering wheel. It helps with turns, u-turns, and when people have to go back and forth a lot to get out of a tight parking space.

  19. they increase grip on the wheel and keep your hands warm while the car warms up.

  20. So they know where their going.Common sense.
