  1. For entertainment purposes since they are bored are need to keep their mind occupied

  2. To identify with.  I loved to watch "The Shining",  and "War of the Roses", and "American Beauty". They are all very sad movies,,,, when I was in a very sad period in my life they kept me company and I felt like I was not suffering alone.  They actually made me feel better at the time.

Now that my life is a little better, I try to watch only comedies and happy movies, to keep my spirits up.

I really don't know why (?)...but I can totally identify and understand your question and I wonder myself...???

  3. I have no idea about that.  Maybe when you are on a down hill slide, it's easier to not fight it and then you somewhat feed  that negative emotion.  Makes no sense but just a thought.  You certainly should not eat the poison when you know what it is beforehand.

Do something to heal and not destruct.  To me that would make more sense.  Read watch and listen to things that ar uplifting and are giving

you hope.  It takes effort but so does destructive things.

Get a book on attitudes and change the thinking patterns that have not worked before.  Try something new and open your mind to learning

    new things.

I found a book called Powerful Attitudes that is an excellent book to see how people have overcome and found a better way to pusure a future of happiness and good stuff !  You can get one at the site below in the source line. It is a great encouragement and direction for anyone's life.  You can  find out how to get to where you would want to live your life. Seek and you shall find !  You can do it for yourself and no one else.  Feed on positive words  and not negative behavior !

Change your pattern of thinking and you will change the world around you !!  Why wouldn't anyone want to do something that gives positive results in their life?  Hopefully,  No one !

  4. Fear and scary movies can easily replace depression. Happy movies are unbearable to the depressed person. Tear jerkers could be suicide factories. So, scary movies do what alcohol does: numbs the senses. Alot healthier, I think.
