Why do people who come to you for your signature always expect you to be the one to supply the pen?

I could be in the restroom, at lunch, on my way out the door, to my car etc. It's not like a pen is an appendage on one's body.

And it happens to All managers, supervisors, etc....that's why I was asking. The person desiring the service ought to at least provide the pen.

  1. You'll have to clue me in on that one too. They know they are coming for a signature when they stop you in the parking lot or wherever they are. I just started telling them (if I don't have a pen on me,) bring me a pen and I'll be more than happy to sign that for you. :))

  2. If you are worth getting a signature from, then you should be flattered and prepared.

  3. well why would they have a pen i mean its your signature they want maybe they don't need a pen cause no one asks them for there Johnny hancock

  4. Good question, I think they feel that they have supplied the paper so you should supply the ink.  I  dunno, but here's another one, if you loan someone your pen to sign something why do they put it in their pocket like 10 seconds after you've given it to them?  Do they have memory problems or is it just automatic?
