Question:

Why do people who get into tattoos clutter up their "canvas" with so many tats when it looks so hodgepodge?

A cool tattoo loses its impact when its surrounded by hearts, Shamrocks, Yellow, moons, green clover etc, etc

  1. Because they want to, and it is their bodies, and not everyone has good taste, not everyone has a sense of composition, ...

I think that often someone starts off with one, .. then another unrelated one, and another, etc... then it looks hodgepodge, and that is when a really good artist should be sought after to tie it all together, and make it all look cohesive.

All that matters is that you like what you do, but I admit to sometimes wishing that someone would 'tie it all together' to make their body art really nice to see.

  2. I think it depends if you want a series of pictures on you, which is what i myself have- nice things dotted around. but you could be going for a covering, a layer if you like like my brother has so you need to fill the gaps around the individual pictures. i don't think they loose impact, they become part of a whole design. but personally i don't want a complete layer so ive several little ones- who knows if i change my mind then it'll be flames/flowers/green clover all the way!!

  3. I agree. I think several well placed tattoos look better than many. And if you want many, I think it is better to have one large one than lots of small ones. But ultimately, it's a personal choice. Just as one person's style of dress may not be to the liking of another, a person's tattoos need to reflect them. If others don't like it, it really doesn't matter, since only you have to live with your tattoos. If a person feels more beautiful with many tattoos, more power to them, even if it just appears cluttered to someone else. Personally I'd rather a wall with one or two beautiful paintings on it, but some people prefer walls covered in posters. It's just a matter of aesthetics, same as it is with tattoos.

  4. so i look at it this way.

maybe they wanted the hodgepodge this that and there look

maybe the design is meant to have moons, stars, hears, clovers or the occasional special marshmallow lol

i have seen some while browsing online that to me, make no sense. but since it's not my body or mind behind the tattoo i can't judge what the person that has it is/was thinking having it.

i have seen others that look specifically laid out - you look at it and go ahhh okay

    to each their own.

i myself have plans and places for all my tattoos and know if in 5yrs i want to add more i will have a place for that/those too

  5. No to people have the same opinions when it comes to art lol What you may find clutter is beautiful to them..

  6. Why do you care what people do to their bodies? Everyone has different opinions on what looks good and what doesn't and everyone has different ideas of what they want tattooed on their body forever. Why not just enjoy what you do (or don't) have tattooed and be cool wit what other people want to get?
